Tours with Coldwater Alaska are catered to our passengers, customized to what they would like to see. Our boats only carry up to six passengers which provides a great personal experience while enjoying their time on the water. Tours provide a unique combination of sightseeing, wildlife viewing, and scenery in the beautiful waters of Kachemak Bay, Alaska.

Location

Homer Harbor - Ramp 3

You will depart from the Homer Harbor at the base of ramp 3, unless otherwise specified. Ramp 3 is located directly in between Harbor Grill and Coal Point Trading Co. It is the only covered ramp in the marina with a big 3 at the top of it.

Wildlife of Kachemak Bay - If you mind being wet, rain gear's appropriate. Binoculars if you've got them. Guides were very good with kids.

A must do if visiting Homer, Alaska - Captain and his mate were incredible tour guides and gave us up close and personal experiences with all sorts of Alaskan wildlife.

Captain Ben was amazing... - Captain Ben was amazing on this tour! My curious 6 year old grandson asked a million questions and Ben was able to answer them! We saw a beautiful area and learned a lot! He had a lot of great information. Would love to do this tour again and highly recommend it!

Charming Wildlife Tour with a Knowledgeable Crew - Captain John and First Mate Devon took us out on a gorgeously sunny and brisk Tuesday morning in August. After a comically slow exit from the Harbor (someone took “No Wake” a bit too literally), we were on a roll across the Bay. John did his best to sight whale spouts from atop the cabin, but alas, none were to be seen. After cruising across some swells, we DID sight tons of birds feasting on churned-up ocean goodies, a couple of harbor porpoises frolicking near the shore, and the largest raft of otters I’ve ever seen. We also had a pleasant, brief short stop ashore at a beautiful (where two fellow passengers got engaged!). My four-year-old was entranced by all the sea stars and shells on shore. Love the late summer chill on Kachemak Bay… Highly recommend Coldwater and this personable, knowledgeable crew.

AMAZING Views of Whales & Otters!! - The views were beyond AMAZING! I have traveled alot and we had an exceptional viewing! We were So Lucky to see so many Whales (7)±±±¹¹, Humpback and Orcas! We also saw a Raft of Otters!! They played, waved at us with their paw, and rode on each others backs. So Much Fun to watch!!! Such a Great trip!!

Great experience to see more of Homer - Must do when in Homer! We saw lots of otters and went far into the bay. Beautiful views from water and perfect amount of time out there.

Kids and photos - Great trip! Our little boys got to sit up top with the captain. They were enthralled. The design of the boat allows it to get near the islands and shore which presented some great photo opportunities.
