Great experience, recommend the 2 day tour - This was an amazing experience. Mama zuzu is a great tour guide and speaks very good English. I booked the tour alone, and met the other members at lunch upon arrival. We trekked from the lunch location while her husband brought our bags up to the Homestay on a motorbike. We had the choice between a hard or easy hike, and chose the hard hike. It was about 5.5 hours and was worth it if you are fit and enjoy hiking. However, it can be very muddy so bring proper footwear and lots of water. We had the opportunity to cook with the family and try to their homemade ‘happy water’. We stayed in private rooms in the home stay that had a fan in the room and a bathroom outside the house. It was a comfortable experience but not a hotel. I’d recommend the 2 day tour, as you may repeat the same hike depending on the choice of the groups. The second day I hiked down with the group and hiked back up with mama zuzu on the same path. I was the only one who booked the 3 day, so I had time alone with mama zuzu and the family. I felt like part of the family by the time the second group arrived. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this tour if you want a hiking and local experience!

Exploring the best of Vietnam - Trekking in Sapa with Mama Zhu Zhu was probably the highlight of our 3 week holiday. She was a superb guide and the scenery was stunning. Manh from The Vietnam Real Tour was super helpful in arranging our trip and was constantly in touch via What’s App to ensure everything was going according to plan. He organised all our taxis and trains throughout our trip and everything went smoothly ensuring that we maximised our free time to explore Vietnam. Manh was super helpful on advising us about the level of tipping. I would thoroughly recommend him to book tours throughout Vietnam

A warm local experience - This is really a local and authentic experience. Mamazuzu's family is really warm and welcoming. They were really busy but still ensure that I am well taken care of. I was fetched by mamazuzu's daughter, Cat and she is really friendly and willing to share her knowledge abt her culture. Though it has been pouring heavily the two days that I have been there, which made the hike challenging but it was all fun. Would really recommend this tour to those who love culture and experiences.

Lovely local stay - If you are looking for an authentic experience at a homestay in a little village near Sapa with trekking through the beautiful rice terraces then staying with MaMazuzu's family is just the right thing. My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days 2 nights and that was a perfect amount of time. We were picked up in Hanoi with a sleeping bus, broughtus to Sapa. Here Mamazuzu's husband took our backpackes on hus motorbike and we trekked with one of the daughters and the son through the beautiful landscape for 14km. We slept in a simple room and had lovely homemade food for dinner and breakfast. The two following days we spend trekking through villages and rice fields. Bring good hiking shoes. We loved the atmosphere and the stay was absolutely wonderful.

Best experience of my life. - I could write for hours about how amazing these people and this experience was. I was originally staying 3 days and 2 nights, but I ended up staying 2 more nights. Mama Zuzu and Papa Xuan were very hospitable. They’re always concerned how you’re doing. You can choose how much you want to help with things. I helped kill and clean several animals for dinner. I managed to come during a few special occasion nights so I got to meet their extended family. We did some treks to a nearby waterfall and through bamboo forests. While you you’re trekking, be sure to ask as many questions about their culture as you want. They’re very happy to tell you all about it. They have a small shower that connects to a sink. Low flow, but perfect for fellow backpackers who know a shower is a shower. Also a functional toilet. Then a room for you to sleep with a comforter. Yes the bed is a little firm, but I slept like a log every night. They’ll take you heavy bags by motorbike to their house while you’re trekking in. Anyways. 10 stars. I love this family, I’ll be back to see them.
