The drive will take approximately 1.5 hours, offering a chance to enjoy the picturesque rural landscapes along the way.
- Sơn Tây Old Fortress - At 10:00 am, visit the Son Tay citadel, constructed in 1822. This Vauban fortification is a masterpiece of Vietnamese architecture, covering an area of 16 hectares. It holds historical significance and draws attention for its unique design. Visitors can explore the remnants of this once-renowned military stronghold while enjoying the serene atmosphere. It was one of the four major townships protecting Thăng Long (Hà Nội), situated to the west of the capital. The site showcases many relics of the Vietnamese people’s unwavering struggle, loyalty, and resilience against foreign invaders. Although it was one of 20 citadels built during the Nguyễn Dynasty, it is the only one constructed entirely of laterite, a locally available material ideal for defensive structures.
- Mong Phu Village Hall - Mong Phu Temple is situated on one of the village’s central and highest points, covering an area of about 1,800 square meters. Built in 1533 during the reign of King Mac Dang Doanh, it was renovated in the early 19th century but retains its fundamental and original architecture.
- Duong Lam Ancient Village - Upon arrival at the center of Duong Lam village, visitors will see a natural holy “milking-well” that holds clear water year-round. It is believed that childless couples can conceive after drinking this water. Today, Duong Lam village preserves most of the essential characteristics of a traditional Vietnamese village, including a village gate, trees, courtyards, temples, wells, and water fields. The roads in Duong Lam are uniquely shaped like fish bones. The old village gate in Mong Phu village is one of the features still preserved in Duong Lam ancient village.
- Hanoi Opera House - At 4:30 pm, guests will be dropped off at hotels around Hanoi Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, or Hanoi Opera House, marking the end of the tour.

Highly recommended - Visiting Duong Lam Ancient Village was like stepping back in time . Walking through the narrow red brick streets, I admired the centuries-old houses and historical sites such as the communal house and ancient temples. The tour guide vividly explained the stories behind each site, including the fortress that once protected the village. The peaceful atmosphere and rich history made the tour truly worthwhile.
