Very enjoyable tour - This was a very enjoyable and learning experience for me about Hanoi and this beautiful country of Vietnam. Lily, was our tour guide and she was great. Very knowledgeable. Hannah, who did the booking for me, was super helpful working around my schedule as it would change a little at the last moment. Great tour and agency.

Hanoi happiness! - We heard about UpTravel on social media and booked two trips prior to leaving the UK. After registering my request via WhatsApp, I was quickly contacted by the lovely Hannah.
From that moment on, I knew I was in good hands. Hannah was charming, friendly, extremely helpful and made herself available at any time to patiently answer my many, many questions.
Hannah provided detailed instructions about our guide and pick up point and it all went without a hitch in Halong Bay.
Mike, our English speaking guide during our trip to Hanoi, was so lovely - knowledgeable and keen to share many aspects of life in Vietnam with us.Our driver was friendly and smiley too.
As we left Halong Bay, Mike took us to the local food market. This was our first introduction to genuine Vietnamese food and culture and it was so easy thanks to Mike's guidance, though the local people were more than welcoming.
We had an amazing day in Hanoi - Mike seeing us safely around all the main sites such as Train St, The Temple of Literature and the Prison too which was very sobering but, we felt, truly important.
The trip also included lunch, which was simply delicious and, after lunch, a tour round the old quarter in a bicycle rickshaw which was quite an experience!
Mike was a terrific photographer and took many snaps of our party altogether which was an added bonus.
It was simply the perfect introduction to our first Vietnam city - we felt welcomed, cared for and much better informed by the time we were returned to Halong Bay. We also laughed a great deal!
Can't praise Hannah and her guides highly enough, fabulous experience and great value for money. Hannah MN ade paying for the trips very easy and flexible so every angle was taken care of beautifully.
Thanks Hannah, Mike and driver (apologies, I wrote down your name and list the piece of paper!!).
So, excursion 1 - 10 out of 10 and bonus points for sheer efficiency!

2025 tour group - I had a group of 33 people from Canada, UK and US. We had an amazing time and this agent exceeded our expectations. I would definitely refer them to all our friends and families to Katie. She did an amazing job 👏 🙌 ❤️.

Fab trips from cruise ports - Booked with Lily four trips from various ports whilst on our cruise.
All four trips and guides were fantastic, knowledgeable & great communication throughout the booking process. We met a lovely group of people & had the a great time.
Would highly recommend, trips were half the price of Celebrity, more authentic & much smaller groups.

Beyond our very high expectations! Bravo! - Absolutely outstanding! We loved every minute from the moment we were met at the cruise terminal to our return. Emma, our guide, was knowledgeable and empathetic. She got to know us and our interests and responded with information and an itinerary that met the whole group’s expectations. Expecting a dry sandwich for the included lunch we were delighted to be treated to local Vietnamese cuisine that made for the best meal we’ve had in recent memory. Truly an amazing and unforgettable experience!

Unforgettable Vietnam Experience with Up Travel - We went on a cruise to celebrate the holidays, and at every stop in Vietnam, we took tours organized by Up Travel. 5 Star Service - unforgettable Day - Absolute 5* trip with our guide Lee l,this was a private tour, my husband and I as group tours were fully booked but having met with Lee the day before we had no qualms a fun day lay ahead. We were taken to the Temple of Literature, very interesting and as this was graduation day for some students we were able to enjoy their celebrations. We then visited Hoa Lo Prison/Masion Central - the infamous Hanoi Hilton. A very sobering experience, models depicted the appalling conditions the inmates were subjected to- Madam Guillotine still in situ, the tiger cages, the memorial and then a separate area giving note to the American soldiers and their captivity within. Vietnam is a communist country and one could say their spin on events is somewhat one sided. We then enjoyed a lovely lunch, just my husband and I, many courses and it was delicious. Lee had then arranged a rickshaw ride for us through the Old Quarter, absolutely delightful. Many scooters laden high with all manner of goods, we saw the ‘Notre Dame’, Christmas decorations, street before, our rickshaw man was very skilful on the busy streets and roads. We met with Lee who had booked us front row seats on Train Street where we enjoyed the infamous Egg Coffee (delicious) and then the main event- the 3.20pm train. Lots of whistles/claxons/shouting to clear the street and shut the road. Oh my! What an experience, you are literally inches away from the very big, long train. Fabulous!!! Our guide Lee then bid us farewell as he was off to meet tourists flying in from Singapore, our driver returned us to port with time to spare before departure. Lee you are a bright shiny star, thank you for making our time so special and unforgettable in beautiful Vietnam.

Don’t bother with Hanoi go to Halong bay instead for 2 days - Long journey from where the cruise ship docked and not much to see when you get there I should have spent the 2 days in Halong bay. The Guild was very helpful and made the trip worthwhile. However if considering a trip to Hanoi reconsider. The only thing we enjoyed was Train street .
