Old Quarter - IN THE MORNING:
Between 07:15 am and 07:30 am: Guests will be picked up from hotels or accommodations in the Hanoi Old Quarter Area. The guide will meet guests in the hotel lobby, confirm their names at the reception, and then transfer them to Quang Phu Cau Incense Village, which is approximately a 1.5-hour drive. - Quảng Phú Cầu - Begin the journey at Quang Phu Cau Incense Village, where the vibrant display of incense sticks drying in the sun offers a unique and picturesque scene. Explore the traditional art of incense making, an important part of Vietnamese culture and spirituality.
Note: In case of rain, the incense cannot be seen, so the visit will be redirected to Bat Trang pottery village (a 45-minute drive) instead. Here, guests can participate in a pottery workshop where artisans create ceramic products for both domestic use and export. Guests will also have the opportunity to make one sample with the guidance of an instructor.
- Hanoi Train Street - Before 11:30 am, guests will arrive at Train Street to prepare for capturing photos or videos of the train returning to Hanoi Railway Station. This is a highly anticipated part of the trip. Lunch will be served here.
NOTE: For those on the 1/2 MORNING tour, the tour guide will bid farewell at the hotel.
- Hoa Lo Prison - IN THE AFTERNOON:
After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to Hoa Lo Prison, originally used by French colonists in Indochina for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. prisoners of war during the Vietnam War. During this period, it was known to American POWs as the “Hanoi Hilton.” The Hoa Lo Prison Museum, located in Hanoi, Vietnam, is a must-visit tourist attraction due to its historical importance and fascinating exhibits.
- Temple of Literature & National University - Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university established in the 10th century. Learn about Confucianism and traditional Vietnamese education with the Khue Van Pavilion and Doctor Stelas on turtle’s back.
- Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - The tour proceeds to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (viewing the exterior), and Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam’s independence on September 2nd, 1945.
- Chua Tran Quoc - The tour includes a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. At approximately 1400 years old, Tran Quoc Pagoda is Hanoi’s oldest temple. It is situated on the small Golden Fish Island on West Lake (Ho Tay), connected to the lake banks by a causeway. The tour concludes with a special Egg coffee experience that guests have likely never tried before.
- Old Quarter - At 17:30, guests will be dropped off at their hotel in the Old Quarter Area or at a designated meeting point. The trip concludes.
