Hanoi authentic food tour and amazing guide. - I found nom nom travel about a month prior to our trip out to Vietnam as I wanted to have some experiences already booked and organised. I was a little apprehensive to put my trust in Alex ( our tour organiser) through social media but I need not have been worried. Communication was excellent from first contact. All of my questions were answered in a friendly professional way which only left me with feelings of excitement for our tour and looking forward to meeting Alex. Alex messaged us the day before our Vietnamese food tour of Hanoi taking care of any stresses of meeting up. It was made sure that we did not have any intolerance or allergies for our tour and Alex made note of what we did and did not like to eat. This ment every stop we made we were not uncomfortable that we might be presented with food we did not like. Alex gave a detailed plan of where he was taking us on the 3 hour tour and what foods we would be able to try. He gave background information on the restaurants/cafes for example one place has been awarded a Michelin star for it's food. Alex explained in detail each dish we tried, ingredients origin and how it was cooked. My favourite dish was the papaya and beef jerky salad and my husband enjoyed the barbequed pork belly in honey and sesame but we absolutely enjoyed all the food. As I have a sweet tooth it was a real treat to end the tour in a popular Vietnamese dessert cafe. Alex chatted comfortably to us the whole time and even showed us the way to train street and a speak easy bar following the tour. Going above and beyond expectations he even arranged to take my husband fishing the following day as he was unsure where to go. We learnt a good deal of knowledge about Vietnamese culture while with him which I truly think we would have missed out on if we had not met Alex. We can now return to Britain and share this knowledge with our family and friends. If your looking for an authentic , affordable,genuine and unforgettable experience tasting the real flavor of Hanoi, I can not recommend NomNom travel enough. Highly recommended - This was a real highlight of our trip. Alex was a knowledgeable and fun guide. He catered for my gluten free and seafood allergy really well. We went to 8 Street food restaurants in the Old Quarter and felt like we really saw the true Hanoi. Highly recommended.

Gluten free revolution - Backpacking whilst coeliac means often feeling left out of authentic eating experiences - but not here, this tour was revolutionary. It was fantastic to sample such a stunning array of local dishes (eel porridge, beef salad, tapioca dumplings to name a few) all safe in the knowledge they were gluten free. Alex has curated a fantastic tour here, his knowledge is indispensable, and for any coeliac / gluten free person travelling to Hanoi it is a must do.

Best street food tour! - Alex was the best street food guide! He catered the entire evening to my gluten free needs, and also made sure there was gluten -filled food for my partner who doesn’t have celiac. Every dish was exquisite— by far the best foodie experience I have ever had! We went back the next day to two of the spots because they were so divine. He was also a pleasure to speak with, about Vietnamese culture. The perfect evening!

Must Do for food lovers! - We had an incredible time on this food tour in Hanoi! Our guide was not only extremely knowledgeable but also super friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. The food stops were all very local and absolutely delicious. Wwe ate so much that we could barely walk home afterward, lol! Every dish we tried felt authentic and thoughtfully chosen. If you’re looking for a genuine taste of Hanoi with great company, we can definitely recommend this tour!

Fantastic accommodation for dietary requirements, and all-round great experience - I contacted Alex at quite short notice to request a Hanoi food tour for our family of 6, with a complicated (i.e. annoying!) mix of dietary requirements, including gluten free, vegetarian, and nightshade- vegetable free. He was very responsive and helpful, and took the time to carefully research and check in with local restaurants to put together a tour that everyone could enjoy. The food was great, and we got a good variety of styles and dishes. Alex was also very thoughtful and conscious of the fact that we were travelling with a baby in hot water - making sure we had enough water, didn't have to walk too far etc. He was also fantastic company for the day, great to chat to, and did well at answering all our questions. I was really impressed at the level of thought and care Alex put into the experience and would recommend him to anyone, dietary requirements or not! Thanks Alex!!

Absolutely highly recommended! - This was an absolutely fantastic food tour! Our guide made sure all our food allergy requirements were met and then took us to several places based on what we had eaten so far. He was very conscious of my son who was celiac and made sure he was well fed with gluten free options. I can’t recommend this tour enough! Very friendly, very knowledgeable and made sure we all were well fed and hydrated.

An absolute must do for authentic and fun experience in Hanoi! - Alex and the street food tour was the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. The stops were interesting, educational, and so delicious! It is hard to sift through the multitude of touristy excursions and experiences and Alex delivered an evening that we will never forget. My teenagers loved talking to him and learning about this vibrant city! He went above and beyond to connect us with guides in other cities as we traveled South to ensure our time I Vietnam was memorable. Thank you NomNom for memories that will last a lifetime!

A joyful, healthy, and delicious dinner. - I tried three different foods in Hanoi: fried eel, skewers, and shaved ice. I traveled by motorbike and walked afterward. Since I had to try various dishes, I couldn’t eat too much of one thing. The fried eel was from a restaurant listed in the Michelin guide, and it was incredibly delicious. The guide is very tall and a cheerful friend, making the experience even more enjoyable when exploring together I highly recommend everyone to try this food tour!

Traveled to many street food restaurants all around the old quarter with gluten free options - Alex is an amazing tour guide. He taught us so much about Hanoi street food and Vietnamese culture/history. Alex tailored every stop to our dietary needs (gluten free and no onion/garlic). We booked the gluten free tour through his Nom Nom website. If you want a gluten free and stress free food experience, Alex is a must! He was the best part of the time spent in Hanoi. His English is amazing.
