• Hoa Lu Temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties - 10:30am: Visit the ancient Citadel of Hoa Lu, featuring the King Dinh Temple from the 10th Century. This former capital boasts numerous historical sites for visitors to explore. Attractions include temples dedicated to the Emperors and royal figures who ruled over 1000 years ago. Hoa Lu still preserves remnants of the ancient fortress built by the Dinh dynasty over a millennium ago. The Imperial site, buried 3 meters underground, is now a fascinating place to visit. The tour continues with a 30-minute bike ride through a rural village to experience local life. Please note that this short biking trip is an optional, complimentary activity to enjoy the serene rural landscapes, not a professional biking excursion. If cycling is not preferred, guests can opt to walk around the area for photos or relax at the restaurant while others cycle.
• Ninh Binh Mountain Side Homestay & Cafe - 12:30pm: Enjoy a buffet lunch at the restaurant featuring a variety of local dishes such as goat meat, fried rice, and rice crackers. Vegetarian options are also available.
• Quầy bán vé khu du lịch Tam Cốc, Bích Động - 1:30pm: Embark on a sampan boat trip rowed by locals, gently gliding along the Ngo Dong River. Capture the breathtaking scenery of Karst hills, rice fields, and tranquil villages, passing through “Hang Ca”, “Hang Hai”, and “Hang Ba”. This natural masterpiece is often referred to by Vietnamese people as “Halong Bay on land”.
• Mua Caves - 4:00pm: Arrive at Mua Cave and begin an exhilarating hike to the top of Ngoa Long Mountain to admire the spectacular rice valley and the stunning natural views. The cave, whose name means ‘Cave of Dance’, may not be particularly impressive, but the panoramic views from the peak are remarkable. A stone staircase beside the cave entrance zigzags through the karst (watch out for goat droppings) and leads to a simple altar to Quan Am (the Goddess of Mercy) after almost 500 steps. Look west to see the Ngo Dong River winding through Tam Coc. The climb is paved but steep in parts, so bring water and allow an hour for the round trip. Afterwards, return to the bus for the journey back to Hanoi.
• Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre - 7:30pm: Guests are dropped off at their hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter and the Hoan Kiem Lake area. The trip concludes.
