As the sun sets behind the western mountains and dusk begins to settle, the operator will be preparing to launch from the shores of Gordon Bay. Guests will receive a brief presentation about the area’s history and the wildlife to look out for during the tour.
With a thoughtfully selected playlist to enhance the journey and bright LED lights illuminating the waters below, the group will paddle out to the Gordon Bay Islands to explore their coastline. The Gordon Bay Islands are approximately 400 meters from the launch point. After exploring the islands, the group will paddle along the southern shoreline to the west. This is a unique opportunity to witness a rugged, untouched part of Cowichan Lake that is only accessible by water. Massive, moss-covered cliffs rise from the water as the group continues along the south shore of the lake. This marks the turnaround point, and travelers will then return to the tour’s starting location.
