Antelope Island State Park - At 10 am, the journey to Antelope Island, nestled within the Great Salt Lake, begins. After a 45-minute drive, participants can witness up to 200,000 migratory birds, along with bison and antelope. The first day involves a 5-mile hike to the backcountry camping area. Backpacking lunches and snacks are provided, allowing for the enjoyment of vast landscapes, wildlife, and natural beauty. The night is spent under the stars, as Antelope Island is recognized as a Bronze Star Dark Sky National Park.
Hiking and Exploring Antelope Island
Antelope Island State Park - On the second day, participants trek through the Mars-like landscape in the backcountry of Antelope Island. With the Great Salt Lake as a backdrop and a view that stretches for 200 miles without a single person in sight, this hidden gem is virtually untouched by people. The hike covers 7 miles of easy to moderate terrain. There is no time constraint, as the main focus is exploring the island. Participants will return to the van by approximately 3 pm.
