• Faial Island - The proposed itinerary is typical for this tour. However, adjustments may occur (in the duration and selection of sites to visit), depending on the season and weather conditions. If any changes are necessary, alternative sites such as natural volcanic pools and forest parks will be offered. Our aim is to ensure you have the best experience possible!
• Monte Da Guia Walking Trail - Monte da Guia is a volcanic cone featuring two semicircular craters. From here, you can enjoy a stunning view of Porto Pim beach and the city of Horta.
• Miradouro de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao - From the Monument of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, you can view the historic center of Horta and its bay on one side, and Praia do Almoxarife on the other. Additionally, you can see the neighboring Pico Island and Portugal’s highest point, Pico Mountain. On clear days, the islands of São Jorge and Graciosa are also visible. This location undoubtedly offers a spectacular view!
• Flamengos - On the way to Caldeira do Faial, the road provides excellent views of the entire parish of Flamengos. This is the only parish on the island without direct sea access, surrounded by mountains and volcanoes.
• Caldeira - Situated in the island’s center, the Caldeira is Faial’s true highlight. It is one of the largest volcanic craters in the Azores, forming the island’s origin, with a diameter of about 2000 meters, a perimeter of 7000 meters, and a depth of 400 meters.

In this remarkable location, you can take a short walk, capture unique photos, or simply marvel at nature’s power.

• Praia do Almoxarife - Visit one of the island’s most beautiful beaches, offering views of Pico, S. Jorge, and Graciosa islands. This is Faial’s largest volcanic sand beach and one of the largest in the Azores.

You will have free time here. Options include enjoying a drink at a local café, strolling along the beach or around the parish, or swimming in the warm waters.

Afterward, we will head to a local restaurant for lunch, away from typical tourist paths, to provide a more authentic experience.

• Miradouro Ponta Furada - A coastal site of great beauty where you can observe the interaction of basalt with the sea. The area features several caves and geological formations that are sure to impress.
• Porto do Comprido - We will visit the Natural Pools of Porto do Comprido, formed by basalt rocks from the solidification of lava in the sea.

We will pass by the former whaling village, now mostly buried by sand and volcanic ash. In the 19th century, Porto do Comprido was a significant whaling station in the Azores archipelago.

• Capelinhos - A site of extraordinary volcanic beauty. The Capelinhos Volcano is a major tourist attraction in the Atlantic, especially in the Azores. Its landscape resembles a lunar environment. Enjoy the contrast of grey sands with the green mountains and the blue sky and sea.
  In this exceptional place, you will have free time to explore. You can visit the Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre, wander through the sands and volcanic ash, see the Capelinhos Lighthouse with its first floor still underground, or walk on the Costado da Nau (the area where Faial Island ended before the eruption).

• In the summer, there is the possibility to take a dive at Almoxarife Beach! Don’t forget to bring a bathing suit and a towel. There’s a place to swap on the beach. There is only one rule: you have to be dry before you go back to the cart.
