A fantastic experience. - I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The boat trip was amazing. The guides were very informative, and we got very close to a number of humpback whales for quite a while. I had an incident on board and the whole crew were fantastic in looking after me. As the tour had to be cut short by about half an hour, every passenger was given a free ticket for another tour. Great service.

We saw whales! - Amazing!! We had warm weather the week we were in Iceland so we had excellent conditions to go see the whales! The water was also very calm and flat! We got to see a number of whale come up and one even went just behind our boat which was just amazing to see and experience. Our marine biologists and captain were very knowledgeable and seasoned! Gave us a great experience. Then to end we got a cinnamon bun and hot chocolate which was a great end to a very fun experience

Fantastic experience... - Fantastic experience whale watching. Done in a safe manner that also protected the whale and avoided distressing them by keeping the watching of a single whale to a max duration to 40 mins. Great experience!

Just wonderful - We were on the traditional Icelandic oak boat Nattfari built in 1965 out of Husavik, the Whale Capital of Iceland. North Sailing is a family company that started whale watching expeditions in 1995. The company is responsible nature friendly and has won numerous awards for their environmental efforts. The all female crew was competent, knowledgeable and friendly, they even served hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls on the way back in to shore. There were overalls available for everyone, luckily we didn’t need them because it was a spectacular weather day. We sailed out into the Skjalfandi Bay where we saw tons of funny little Puffins trying to take off, only to give up and just dive into the water instead. On the way out we were lucky to spot the elusive Minke whale and Harbour porpoise. Of course, the main attraction were the Humpback whales. They put on a show, doing circular bubble feeding, multiple breaching on every side of the vessel, close up passes, and so many tails. This was an incredible tour for sure.

Amazing Whale Watching Experience - The experience was incredible! The guides were super friendly, and the information they shared was extremely informative. Even though we went out in very cold weather, the protective gear they provided kept us perfectly warm. Despite not being the peak season, we were lucky enough to spot two different whale species. I really appreciated the guides’ efforts to raise awareness about whale conservation and the problems caused by hunting whales for consumption. I highly recommend this activity — supporting whale-watching tours also helps protect these amazing animals, as hunting is banned in areas where whale-watching activities take place. So go for it! It’s a fascinating experience that also contributes to their conservation without harming them.

mass tourism - I went on this whale watching tour with my mom. We think it was going to be the best part of our trip, but it was not like that. We saw only one whale, and it was often far (not like on the pictures). Okay, nature is like this, but the boat was too much full with people. When we get on the boat, there was almost no space for put the suit. Then not enough place to sit (people sitting on the floor or stairs). My mom has problem with knee and she had to sit on floor! When we found the whale, already there were two other boats next to it (is it good for the whale?). This tour is really not good if you have old person or small child with you. You need to be strong and fast, go from one side to other and push between people for try see something. It was not relaxing at all. I think better option is go with rib boat, with less people, maybe you see more. Maybe just we had bad luck, but I saw other big boats not so full like ours. That make me feel more bad, like we choose the wrong company. I don't suggest to book in advance. Just go to the port and see which boat has space. The tour is too expensive for what you get. Mass tourism. Not many whales. We were just cold and tired after the tour.No place to sit inside and warm up. Feels like waste of time and money. The crew was nice and knew many things about whales. we saw few puffins during the tour. At the end they gave us hot chocolate and cinnamon roll. that was nice.
