- Chishingtan Scenic Area - Chishingtan Beach is renowned as one of Taiwan’s most stunning beaches. Imagine the perfect beach scene, and Chishingtan likely fits the description. The azure sky meets the vast Pacific Ocean, with a shoreline adorned with smooth white and black pebbles. Clouds seem to crown the mountains that hug the coastline. This beach could easily be considered one of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. While it remains a hidden gem to many outside Taiwan, Chishingtan’s beauty is well-known among locals.
- Taroko National Park - Taroko National Park is a beloved tourist spot in Taiwan. Known for its marble-walled canyons, lush greenery, and mountainous terrain, Taroko is celebrated for its breathtaking views. Spanning 900 sq. km, the park rises from sea level in the east to over 3700m in the west. With 90% of the park being mountainous and 27 peaks exceeding 3000m, it represents nearly all of Taiwan’s bio-geographical zones, serving as a haven for half of the island’s flora and fauna. The blue-green Liwu River carves through the park, creating deep valleys and ravines before reaching the sea. It forms the Taroko Gorge, an 18km marble-walled canyon, considered one of Asia’s scenic marvels.
Due to the April 2024 earthquake, some attractions and trails are under repair. Vehicle access to Taroko Gorge via the highway is subject to timed entry and exit due to ongoing road repairs.
- Qingshui Cliff - The tectonically active Hualien coast is a prime example of mountain formation in Taiwan. Qingshui Cliff, formed by colliding tectonic plates, rises at the junction of mountains and sea. It is eastern Taiwan’s most famous natural barrier and a testament to nature’s artistry. Ranked eighth among Taiwan’s Top Ten Landscapes, it follows Yeliu, Yushan’s main peak, Sun Moon Lake, Jinguashi, Guishan Island, Moon World, and the cirques of Mt. Xue.
- Sakul Trail - The Sakul Trail is the most accessible trail in Hualien City’s suburbs. Constructed with gravel and natural soil, it respects ecological construction methods. The gentle slope makes it easy to walk, with shade trees lining the path. It’s delightful to hear the sounds of insects and birds and enjoy the forest’s aroma while walking. The trail is circular, allowing easy access to the viewing platform at its midpoint, offering a close-up view of the 18-meter-high Sagur Falls. The stream beneath the waterfall is crystal clear, and the high-energy negative ions provide a refreshing escape from city life.
- General Hall - The Jiang Jun Fu (General’s House) dormitory cluster, featuring single and semi-detached layouts, cement drainage ditches, and brick chimneys, holds significant cultural and historical value. Following its renovation, the county government plans to develop the Jiang Jun Fu 1936 Park and nearby Pine Garden into an arts and cultural community. This initiative, along with the “Rails and Bicycles Path,” aims to promote sustainable, low-carbon tourism, creating a cultural hub with educational resources, outdoor performances, and dining. Inspired by “Hualien’s Living Room,” the park features a beautiful Japanese-style garden and water elements, offering a picturesque and exotic setting by day and a serene, romantic atmosphere by night.
- Hualien City - At the tour’s conclusion, the personal driver guide will return guests to their hotel, B&B, or train station in Hualien City.
