Hands-on training on anchor systems, mechanical pulleys, and self-rescue techniques, focusing on efficiency, risk management, and team coordination. Conducted on an indoor wall and natural rock setting, simulating mountain conditions.
May 24, 2026: Huaraz – Nevado Mateo Glacier (4,900 m) – High-Altitude Glacier Training
Huascaran National Park - Departure: 2:00 am
Training includes glacier progression, ice anchor installation, and crevasse rescue practice. Comprehensive training with Kong stretcher, from glacier extraction to evacuation point, including helicopter boarding exercises for casualty transport.
May 25, 2026: Huaraz – Nevado Mateo Summit (5,150 m) – Full-Scale Rescue Simulation and Official Closing
Huascaran National Park - Departure: 2:00 am
A complete rescue simulation with a stretcher from the summit, glacier and rock descent, arrival at the evacuation base, and helicopter extraction in the Punta Olímpica area, one of the most strategic in the range. Official closing at 8:00 pm in Huaraz, featuring a certificate ceremony, presence of local authorities, and a joint evaluation of the learnings.

This pioneering program, developed in partnership with international experts, trains local guides and rescuers in advanced aerial rescue techniques, significantly cutting evacuation times from 48 hours to less than 6. Participants will undergo intensive training focused on safety protocols and operational coordination, establishing Peru as a leading adventure destination with top-tier safety standards. This project not only aims to safeguard tourists but also improves the safety of local communities, making a substantial impact on mountain rescue capabilities in the area.
