Authentic beautiful experience - Highlight of our holiday. Authentic, honest and so much fun! We were collected from our hotel by Moustafa and his colleague P. Moustafa is a real raconteur and kept my two sons aged 13 and 10 (and me!) engaged in authentic Egyptian nature and history story. We headed into the canyon. Huge quiet peaceful natural beauty away from crowds. My 10 year old is obsessed with fossils and we saw so many coral and shell fossils. Blue sky, calm, still and warm sand valley - immensely big. We sat and ate fruit and drank black tea before climbing through the sandstone to the plateau where we saw the sunset on Red Sea mountain silhouette. Then a meal was arranged Bedouin style rug and cushions and home cooked food. Delicious - stars came out and we could see some constellations. My sons and I thought it beautiful and memorable - highly recommend this authentic and special Egyptian experience. Politeness, gratitude, willingness to embrace culture, friendly and kind. Really very special experience- highly recommend.

Beautiful and highly recommended - It was a great experience all around. Our guide Moustafa explained the conditions of the desert and the landscape in detail, as well as insight into the culture of the Egyptians. Additionally, the food was great and the stars in the end very impressive. Worth every penny.

An unforgettable family adventure! - This desert excursion will remain the best memory of our holiday in Hurghada! With our 9 and 13 year olds, we were all amazed from start to finish. Our guide Bashar was great: very professional, but also funny and accessible for children. He captivated young and old by telling us about Bedouin life, traditions and daily life in Egypt. We learned a lot without ever being bored! The magic moment: the sunset in the oasis... a real living picture. Then this dinner, just us in the middle of the desert, was breathtaking. And finally, head in the stars for a sighting of the sky like never seen! A perfect activity for families who want to experience something different, authentic and poetic. Probably the most rewarding experience close to Hurghada - I recommend this experience to everyone. Our guide Bashar was perfect. Passionate and exciting about geology, culture, geography, fauna, flora and even astronomy. Everything is very well organized, dinner in the desert is excellent. Those interested in nature will be delighted.

Highlight of our entire trip! - We booked the El Gouda desert tour with our hotel and were pleased to meet Tarek (driver) and Moustafa (our guide). They drove us in a Toyota Landcruiser into the desert valley and onto the plateau for a most memorable trip. We stopped in the Bedouin settlement to ‘check in’ before going into the valley. They served us lovely black tea and most delicious dates and oranges. Simple and delicious. The valley drive was impressive and we got out and walked in several places. When Moustafa found out that my kids were studying geography - he showed them fossils and all of the geological highlights of the valley. Moustafa also enjoys photography has a hobby and has a good eye for scenes - he took the most impressive photos of us / for us. He taught our teens how to catch an echo, and tie a traditional scarf too. TOP TIP - if you want good photos - wear flowing linen and cotton pieces as it will look great in the pictures when the wind is wisps around you or for the profile of you walking into the sunset We were stunned at the scenery, and humbled at how small we felt as humans in this vast desert. Moustafa describes the area as his home and knows every corner, every fossil, every acacia tree and cave - he picked up other people’s rubbish into his pockets and shared his stories about the area, his family and the traditions of the Egyptian people. He truly made the experience personal and heartening. Tarek was also an amazing driver, he took us out of the desert in pitch darkness where you could easily drive over a cliff edge or ditch if you were not careful. He took care of my kids drinks and gave us a cheeky joyride up a sand slope (where you have to turn the A/C off in the car just to make it up the slope!). Finally the dinner in the desert. Firstly it is cold so bring a jacket. it's fine if you don't need it but if you need it and dont have it - not fun! As all of the photos show, they setup pillows on a carpet and a low table and serve you the most excellent meal every. We had a vegetable tagline, roasted lamb and chicken, warm bread and tagging and salad. My normally picky kids ate everything and said it was their best meal in Egypt (we asked them this after our entire trip including a 5 day stint in a 5* hotel) - that is a high compliment indeed. Such a lovely experience with warm and friendly guides made it our most memorable experience of our entire trip. We look to go back again and will see if there is another excursion to take with Gazelle Crossover Tours!

Pure mysticism and grandeur! - One of the most beautiful and impressive adventures on the Red Sea! We were thrilled and very grateful for this wonderful opportunity. The team was wonderful and the nature pictures, such as the Sundowner or the Milky Way in the sky in the evening, were not only wonderfully beautiful but also incredibly mystical. On the trail of history with great Gazelle team, thank you for that! We'll never forget it.

Dreamlike desert magic - Our tour into the desert with sunset, barbecue and starry sky was a dream. Mustafa, our guide, showed us the desert with wit and charm and told us a lot about the country and the people. He left us plenty of time for photos, enjoyment and just being. The starry sky after the great food was incredible and we would have loved to stay on the carpet all night. Mustafa's photographer talent was also great - thanks to his tips we were able to take home beautiful souvenir photos 👍 Thank you for this unforgettable trip! LG, Claudia

Desert Torture - Avoid this tour at all costs. We couldn’t wait to finish this tour and head back to the hotel. The tour guide started his speech asking for tips and this continued throughout the tour.
