Hurghada - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Hurghada and then travel to Luxor, arriving in approximately 4 hours.
Temple of Karnak - Upon arrival in Luxor, visitors will head to the magnificent Karnak Temple, the largest temple ever built, spanning 63 acres and constructed over 2,000 years. Capture stunning photos among its massive pillars and obelisks.
Luxor Museum - Next, guests will be transferred to the Luxor Museum, which opened in 1975. This two-story building showcases items such as grave goods from the tomb of the 18th dynasty Pharaoh Tutankhamun (KV 62) and a collection of 26 New Kingdom statues discovered in the Luxor statue cache near the Luxor Temple in 1989. The mummies of Pharaohs Ahmose and Ramses I are also on display.
Luxor Temple - Visitors will then be taken to explore Luxor Temple on the East Bank, where ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features are displayed. Afterward, guests will be driven to their hotel.
Hot Air Balloon and Luxor West Bank Tour and Drive Back to Hurghada
Hot Air Balloon Luxor Take Off Site - The day begins around 5:00 am (time can be adjusted) with a pick-up for an incredible 20 to 45-minute hot air balloon flight over the West Bank of Luxor. Enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the landscape and famous landmarks as the sunrise lights up the sky over the open-air museum city of Luxor.
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast and check-out, the unforgettable day starts with a drive to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, where New Kingdom pharaohs carved their tombs into the mountains to hide their treasures and protect their mummies.
Howard Carter House - Next, guests will visit the domed mud-brick house where Howard Carter lived during his search for Tutankhamun’s tomb. Surrounded by a garden on a barren slope above the road from Deir Al Bahari to the Valley of the Kings, the house has been restored and decorated with excavation pictures and tools. An exact replica of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber has been constructed at the garden’s edge, along with an exhibition about the tomb’s discovery.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Then, explore the mortuary temple of the renowned Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir Bahari and discover her beautiful temple and intriguing story with her nephew.
Art Valley Alabaster Factory - Afterward, guests will have the opportunity to visit the alabaster factory, where artisans still bring stones from the quarry and craft them into various handmade items, just like the ancient Egyptians.
Tombs of the Nobles - Luxor - The tour continues to the Valley of the Nobles, a collection of tombs belonging to nobles such as Ramose, Senniffer, Menna, and over 400 Theban nobles. These tombs, marked by numbers, feature beautifully carved scenes and are nestled in the foothills opposite the Ramesseum.
Ramesseum (Mortuary Temple of Ramses II) - The journey proceeds to the Ramesseum Temple, considered the memorial (or mortuary) temple of Pharaoh Ramses II. Located in the Theban Necropolis in Upper Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile River, across from modern Luxor, the design of Ramesses’s mortuary temple follows the standard New Kingdom temple architecture.
Habiba Hand Weaving - Guests will then visit Habiba for hand weaving, specializing in hand-woven scarves made from Egyptian cotton, linen, and wool. Local hand weavers also sell machine-made scarves and shawls in cotton and cotton blends. Situated in a rural setting on Luxor’s west bank with views of the nobles’ tombs, women continue to work and create handmade cloth using traditional machines.
Colossi of Memnon - Conclude the West Bank tour with a photo stop in front of the colossal statues of Memnon.
Hurghada - At the end of the tour, guests will drive back to Hurghada.
