- Valley of the Kings - The journey begins with a visit to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-visit for those traveling to Luxor. Guests will explore four royal tombs, including the Tomb of Ramses, the Tomb of Horemheb, the Tomb of Merenptah, and the Tomb of King Tut. The tomb of Tutankhamun is the only one in the Valley of the Kings found nearly intact in 1922 by Howard Carter. While Tut’s famous golden mask is displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, visitors can marvel at the royal mummy of the young king here.
- Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Following the tomb visits, guests will be taken to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman to have ruled Egypt as Pharaoh. She was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and part of the same dynasty.
- Colossi of Memnon - The tour includes a visit to the Colossi of Memnon, the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, dating back to the reign of King Amenhotep III.
- Temple of Karnak - After lunch, the tour continues to the Karnak Temples on Luxor’s East Bank. Karnak is considered one of the world’s greatest architectural achievements, featuring a complex of temples built over various reigns. Highlights include the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, the Temple of Amon with lotus and papyrus motifs, the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III, and the Sacred Lake. Karnak stands out as one of Egypt’s most stunning ancient monuments.
- Obelisk of Thutmoses I - The Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, along with the Temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs.
- Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut - The Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, along with the Temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs.
- Tomb of Ramesses IX - The Tomb of King Ramesses IX, the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, is notable for its vibrant colors and intricate details, even on the ceiling. Before becoming king, he was known as Amonhirkhopshef and was the fifth son of Ramesses III, appointed crown prince after his elder brothers predeceased him.
- Tomb of Merenptah - In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the creator god of Memphis, associated with craftsmen and architects. In its falcon form, this deity was placed in tombs to accompany and protect the deceased on their journey to the West of Luxor. Tomb 8, located in the Valley of the Kings, served as the burial site for Pharaoh Merneptah, a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1903, the tomb features a simplified design with a single axis and a wider entrance than earlier tombs.
- Tomb of Ramses III - The tomb of Ramesses III, known as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. Known since ancient times, its stunning decorations include colorful painted sunken reliefs with traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates, etc.) and depictions of Ramses before the gods. Unique secular scenes in the entrance corridor’s side rooms show foreign tributes, detailed pottery from the Aegean, the royal armory, boats, and blind harpists, earning it the alternative name: ‘Tomb of the Harpers.’
