Fun packed well paced but no breakfast - Get your guide app booking for a 1 day Hurghada to Cairo highlights tour. Provider Nice Tours. Well paced highlights of Cairo tour! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, he took time to speak to us, sing and dance with us and make it an enjoyable experience. Nice Tours were also very polite and responsive over WhatsApp for any questions and queries which makes travelling as a family reassuring. We were picked up at 1am on the dot from our hotel and reached Cairo around 730/8am with 2 restroom breaks and several police check points. I liked how they allowed ample time to explore the pyramids, sphinx. We were encouraged to purchase any souvenirs from a particular stand, for obvious reasons, they tried to charge a fortune but I declined and named my price, which they accepted. We had 30 min free time for rear view photos which I thought was too much. We had paid for the entry into the pyramid, which needed 20 mins tops. There wasnt anything in there apart from holes and rocks. It was a tick off a bucket list for my 8yo as we had been inside a real pyramid. We had a further 75 min free time next to the pyramids but only 10 mins at the sphinx. We were guided on the right side but the better views and photos would've been from the left. It was 1115 by this time. The perfume stop, seemed tideous as by this point we can gone over 16 hours without a meal, 6 hour journey and few hours walk around pyramids in the sun. The herb stop was slotted in well after lunch, short sharp and spicy. If the herb and perfume stop was substituted for a breakfast stop im sure many would agree or if the tour can be extended to allow a 30 min stop somewhere for a proper coffee and some light breakfast or a bakery. I understand the journey stops at 2x service stations but there is no time to use restroom and purchase food plus the quality is compromised and over priced. Also be prepared to pay 1euro or 50EP pp to use toilets at service stations. Finally we had lunch around 12noon. buffet lunch consisting of freshly made naan, salad, soup, lasagne, stuffed okra, rice, veg curry, bbq kebabs and chicken and for dessert kunafe. I wish they would label the food with an Item name and contents. For ease of dietary requirements and allergies. Next stop was the Antiques Mueseum around 1315. Self guided tour. We were given 1 hour which was adequate as a few areas were closed for refurbishment. Finally the 20 min boat ride on the Nile at 3pm. I found this a perfect way to end a busy day with the calming water and fresh breeze. We left Cairo around 4pm and reached Hurghada by 9pm. A full 20 hour trip. Well worth it! Paid around £238. March 2026. The alternative tour for the Grand Egyptian Museum would not allow time for entry into the pyramid, shopping stops and boat ride. So I booked this one for a more authentic Egyptian experience. Positives- punctual, fun packed, detailed, well paced, complete Cairo tour in 1 package Negatives- label food, breakfast

Horrible. - To flee!! I booked an excursion to Cairo from hurgada via Getyourguides on Tuesday for Saturday. No information was given to me by this operator. I had to restart myself to finally receive a message on Friday at 7pm announcing that there was no more flight (which is totally false) and so they invited me to cancel. What a shame! I finally managed to organize in a few hours a staggered Sunday outing via the hotel with a much more expensive rate necessarily given the urgency. Do not trust this totally disorganized tour operator, absolutely unprofessional, and who obviously totally mocks his customers.

Unreliable, unorganized, bad experiance - I have never experienced such a poor organisation. Our tour to Cairo was cancelled only hours before the start. We asked about another date which should be two days later. Several times we asked if there is a guarantee that the tour is going to take place and the answer was the whole time that there is going to be no problem. Four minutes before the scheduled pick up time we received a message that the tour is cancelled. The comminication via Whatsapp was very difficult. They answer hours later and you can't be sure and rely on their promises.

Tour cancelled at short notice - The day tour was cancelled 15 minutes before the start. The reason given was an unexpected problem with the minibus. There was no substitute bus. After reading the many negative reviews on other portals, I doubt that the real reasons were given to me. I suspect the bus was overcrowded and I was sorted out as an individual. This is unprofessional.

Very bad experience - guide who made us get on the bus without checking our reservation made though GetYourGuide even if we mentioned clearly our names and room number + showed the screenshot on our phone. Then when the two organisers got in touch and managed to get on the right bus, we got scammed over and over. First, we were asked to do the upgrade for the Great Pyramid entrance at 39€ each (we got the general entrance booked through the website); then we were brought into two shops (a perfume one and a papyrus one) and got pressured into buying things there; we then went eating and here things got well. Then we got to the “National” Egyptian Museum (not the Grand - which was implied in the description of the tour) and in the end we did the boat trip on the Nile as anticipated. In the end the bus drivers asked for tips by handing us empty envelopes. I read that all this is to be expected here in Egypt but we were quite annoyed to be so evidently scammed everywhere we went and force to pay euros just to get rid of people.

Hurghada to Cairo By Plane - So Much Potential, Completely Ruined by Poor Organisation - Unfortunately, our day trip from Hurghada to Cairo was very disappointing overall. While our second tour guide did his absolute best with what he had - and deserves no blame for the issues we experienced - the trip itself was poorly organised, stressful, and not what we expected. The problems began before we’d even left the hotel. The night before, the company confirmed a 6am pickup from Makadi Bay, but at 5:10am, the driver whatsapped to say he was already on his way and would be with us at 5:30am - half an hour earlier than planned. It was a stressful start to the day, and then, at 5:20am, he started asking me about hotel security clearance, something I had no control over as I’m not hotel staff. Despite the confusion, he eventually arrived late and needed me to sort the security arrangements myself. I had to ask hotel reception to speak to him via WhatsApp voice note to sort this out. In the end, we didn’t leave until around 6:35am - 35 minutes after the original pickup time - and then, unbelievably, he stopped for petrol on the way to the airport. The flight itself was fine, but on arrival in Cairo, things quickly became chaotic. Our assigned tour guide was waiting in the wrong area, and we only found him after a local kindly phoned the company for us. We then had to wait an hour and a half at the airport for our driver to the pyramids, with little communication other than being told the drivers were “stuck in traffic” after dropping people off far away. Considering the company booked our flights and knew our arrival time, this was extremely poor planning. The guide kept stating that “the drivers have been up since 5am”, as if we hadn’t been too. There was also another man with him (seemingly part of the tour company?) screaming at him in Arabic, so we’re not sure what he said, but the argument was quite heated. During the drive, the guide suddenly jumped out of the car before we’d even left the airport to help a lost child at the airport - a kind gesture, but he never came back. We were left alone with the driver, unsure where we were going or what was happening. Thankfully, we were later met by a new guide who took over for the rest of the day and genuinely did everything he could to make up for the chaos. The itinerary didn’t match what was advertised. We visited the the museum first which felt rushed and chaotic due to the earlier delays; we only had about 50 minutes instead of the promised hour. It was crowded and noisy, making it difficult to hear the guide, and we had no opportunity to explore exhibits that interested us. Lunch was also confusing. We had confirmed a vegan meal several days in advance, but when we arrived, neither the guide nor the restaurant staff seemed to understand what “vegan” meant. After a long and confusing back-and-forth, we were shown food (open buffet style) that might have been vegan, but no one could say for certain what was in it. It left us uncomfortable and unsure about what we were actually eating. The tour also stated that soft drinks were included throughout the day but we only received one each after questioning it. Once we finally reached the pyramids, we had a good time for the most part. The site itself was absolutely incredible, and despite the rocky start to the day, we had a genuinely lovely time once there. Our (new) guide was fantastic - friendly, attentive, and protective, making sure we weren’t hassled by scammers. We didn’t feel rushed and had plenty of time to explore, take photos, and really appreciate the experience. The camel section near the pyramids was the most upsetting part of the day. The guide led the group down to the camel area and told us that the money from the rides “helps to feed the camels,” and that if they’re not fed, “the owners will kill and eat them” which is completely false, misleading, and again upsetting. The camels were clearly suffering - thin, distressed, and making awful noises. One struggled to stand under a tourist’s weight. It was genuinely heartbreaking to witness. If their tour insists on including this as part of the tour, guests should be asked if they’d prefer to stay in the cafe before dragging us down there as the cafe was just before this. Afterwards, we were taken to a perfume shop that felt unnecessary and sales-driven. Because of the morning delays, we missed the bazaar completely, and the company also tried to add an unlisted stop at a “papyrus museum.” The group decided to skip it, which turned out to be the right decision - if we’d gone, we likely would have been late for the Nile boat trip and possibly even our flight home, or had to skip the Nile trip completely. The Nile boat trip itself was lovely - calm, scenic, and a peaceful end to an otherwise chaotic day. However, the disorganisation didn’t end there. We arrived back at the airport for our return flight at 7:35pm, leaving us just 40 minutes to check in before the 8:45pm departure (8:15 check in closing). It was completely unnecessary stress after an already long and tiring day. The flight home was then delayed by 1.5 hours -not the company’s fault- but when we landed back in Hurghada, the issues resumed. The driver who was meant to pick us up was 30 minutes late again, and once again, we had to ask a local to ring him to find out where he was. This took multiple attempts at contacting Nice Tours and the driver himself via WhatsApp. He said he’d be five minutes but took closer to fifteen. We were finally collected and didn’t leave the airport until 11:45 pm and arrived back at the hotel for 12:25 which was an exhausting and frustrating end to an already disorganised day. This is a 18.5 hour day, not 14 hours as advertised. Even with the flight delay, this should have been no more than 15.5 hours. The pyramids themselves were absolutely worth seeing, and our final guide was excellent - but sadly, everything else surrounding the experience fell short. With better planning, clearer communication, and more honesty, this could have been an unforgettable experience for all the right reasons.
