Great Thorsmork Hike Day Tour! - ~4 hour hike with amazing views of every landscape Iceland has to offer. Cool super-jeep ride into the park with views, waterfalls, fun river crossings, and a stop at cavern on the way back. Great tour company that was very professional, tour guide was great and did a good job of balancing the pace given a mix of people in our group (this hike is good for any reasonably in shape adult or older kid - ~5 miles and ~300 meters of elevation gain). Midgard base camp also a great place to grab a bite and drink when you get back from the tour. This was a nice change-up from a few other hikes we did on our own. It is impossible to get into this area on your own without a super-jeep, we saw lots a large passenger SUVs attempting and failing to cross the rivers.

Best day !! Do not miss this - Today we did the Thorsmork hike/ day tour with Midgard Adventure ! What a fabulous day - the service both pre hike and during the hike was exceptional . Our guide was Paulme ?(spelling ) and he was terrific . Our jeep ride to the start of the hike was exciting with multiple river crossings - we always felt we were in safe hands as Paulme said “this was not his first rodeo ! We are keen hikers and this was definitely one of the best ! Scenery was absolutely spectacular - The hike was 9km with some steep parts and loose gravel but our group of 4 “ more mature” hikers managed it well ! I think this might be our best day in Iceland Do not miss this

Perfect Day in Thorsmork with Midgard Adventures - The Thorsmork hike was a highlight of our trip to Iceland. The hike we completed was physically challenging and fun. Our group ranged from 13 to 50, all reasonably fit but not experienced hikers. Our guide chose a hike that suited our abilities and offered incredible views. We pre-ordered the lunchboxes and the food was delicious -- especially the chickpea salad and trail mix. I wish I had those recipes!

Great hike with incredible views! - We had a great day with our guide, Ellie (?). The hike was accurately described as moderate (4/5) and involved walking along some narrow paths skirting steep slopes. We had wonderful views of glaciers, volcanic geology and glacial valleys. Beautiful!

It’s a great experience, especially if you don’t have a high clearance, 4 x 4 and snorkel - It’s pretty much as the description says. You take a super jeep into an area that you can’t access with any normal vehicle, including most 4 x 4’s and depending on the weather and circumstances of the area you do a hike. As always, I think it’s important to remember that you’re only going to be as ambitious as the least mobile person in your group. My wife and I, as an example, would have covered much more ground and chosen much more ambitious to rain, but we needed to ensure everybody in the group was comfortable so we chose something a little bit milder. That being said it was access to an area that very few people have ever seen or hiked, the guides were professional, and we always felt safe and completely enthralled by our surroundings.

A must do! - Wow, what a fantastic day we had! Midgard is an incredible, professional, and organized operation. Carlos is amazing! We’re a family of five with our three adult children. Carlos took us on a journey with some history as we drove to the hiking trail and shared a bit about himself along the way. He led us through an unmarked trail to a glacier and an ice cave. It was definitely a place we never would’ve been able to do on our own. After the hike, we stopped for a quick bathroom break and a snack, and then we headed back to base camp. The hike was just the right amount of challenge - not too tough. He chose the exact trail after asking everyone in the group what their fears and abilities were. Overall, it was an absolute highlight of our trip!

Thorsmork Day Hike - This hike was the most memorable part of our trip. Our guide, Carlos, was knowledgeable and a proficient hiking guide. We learned so much about the area and enjoyed the scenery and hiking immensely. We would highly recommend Midgard!

Amazing and the view - Im experience hiker from Canada! Definitely worth it, especially with the view! Tough in a good way! My guide was perfect! Once again the view was unbelievable!

Beautiful hike (in a rush?) - The hike was amazing and the views where magnificent! The way to get there by car was great! Overall highly recommend. The only thing we found less was that it felt a little rushed. Our guide would wait for us at specific points but it felt like we where in a hurry. Of course everyone can join in there own pace, but we would like to get informed about the landscape as well. In the end we finished earlier then expected. We have paid a lot of money for a day trip so that could be improved.

Good tour company, except deceptive about the scary hike. - I do not like scary hikes. I emailed Midgard before I booked and their response was: "We never received any comments on this from our clients so we would say no, the hike is not scary." According to Carlos, our guide, there are several hikes they could take you on. We went on Tindfjallahringur. He told me before we embarked that there were only a couple short passages that were narrow with a sharp drop. He told us there was one part of the hike we were going on where a man crawled on his hands and knees because he was afraid of falling. How could Midgard tell me there were never any comments about scary parts? There were a lot more scary passages than the two Carlos mentioned. There were many places with a steep drop and narrow/steep/tilted paths. There were several places where the original path was covered in a landslide and we had to take narrow paths that were tilted towards the cliff. Fortunately, Carlos took my hand and helped me through these passages. The other three hikers did not appear to be at all concerned. The positives were that they were on time, Carlos was very knowledgeable, the vehicle was quite capable of driving through the rivers and rough terrain., and the views are spectacular. So if you are afraid of heights and/or are not surefooted, avoid this tour!
