Phenomenal - We ended up not being able to snowmobile due to lack of snow in Iceland! The Southcoast adventure tour team lead was awesome and got us in another tour right away! So helpful and accommodating, we ended up doing a 2.5 hour buggy tour and couldn’t recommend it more! Our tour guide was a ranger as well as search and rescue, so felt very safe but also was able to see the coolest terrain! The buggy’s were absolutely phenomenal as well as the landscape. Would recommend to anyone coming to Iceland

Magical Must-Do! - If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in Iceland, snowmobiling on Eyjafjallajökull is a must-do experience! We were fortunate enough to have clear skies and minimal wind, making for the perfect day in one of the most breathtaking locations on Earth. The entire experience was seamless and exhilarating from start to finish. My husband and I were equipped with ski pants, jackets, snow boots, and heated gloves, which kept us nice and toasty. They provided us with balaclavas, helmets, and goggles, which were super comfy and did a great job of keeping the cold at bay. We were also given the option to wear an extra suit over our ski wear, but the guides assured us it wasn’t necessary—and we were perfectly fine without it. If the wind had picked up, though, I would’ve opted for the extra layer. The journey started with a thrilling ride in a super jeep up to the mountain, offering us amazing views along the way. We ventured into a remote area with fresh, untouched snow, which made the experience feel even more special. It was just us and a couple of other guests, with four amazing guides who ensured our safety and comfort while making sure we had the time of our lives. The snowmobiles were easy to handle after a quick lesson, and before we knew it, we were off. Riding through the pristine snow with stunning views of the ocean and surrounding mountains was surreal. At first, we drove in a line to get the hang of the snowmobiles, but then we split up, allowing for a more personal and immersive experience. The entire tour felt very private, and it was great to have so much freedom to enjoy the surroundings. The guides were incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about the area while also ensuring everyone had fun. We had the best time, and I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you're looking for a truly magical way to explore Iceland, snowmobiling on Eyjafjallajökull is an absolute must!

A Must Do - What a fun outing on the snowmobiles. The team had the process down perfectly from outfitting us with needed snow suits, the education on the use of the snowmobiles and the fun ride up to the ride spot. We had a good day to use the snowmobiles and the guide gave us chances to go over various hills, turns and slopes. We had double rider mobiles for our family and the guide gave chances to take pictures and switch drivers along the way. The truck taking us up to the ride location was just as cool, an added bonus.

Great - totally worth the $$$$ - We had a great experience with snowmobiling. While it was raining in Vik, we had IDEAL weather for our excursion. We had a full tour of ~11 people. After about a 30 min ride into the mountains and onto the Glacier, we were led further into the mountains on the snowmobiles. We had several stops along the journey to take pictures, ride around on the snowmobiles freely, and walk around on the fresh powder. Many people in my family said it was one of their favorite excursions they have ever done. Being given free time to play on these awesome and powerful machines was something we had not experienced before. Highly recommend!

Excellent guides - Not only did we enjoy an exceptional snowmobile tour, we also got a great history lesson on the ride up and down the mountain.

Amazing - Absolutely amazing experience and an absolute must do tour whilst visiting Iceland. The drive up to the snowmobile’s was an experience in itself and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland. Definitely worth the money and you get a good amount of time on the snowmobiles too. One piece of advice I would give when doing this tour is if you do want to go a little faster on the snowmobiles then I would recommend getting to the front of the convoy behind the tour guide as that’s what we did and we were able to pick the pace. Absolute 10/10 experience, thank you Southcoast.is

Holiday highlight - My parents, husband and I did a morning's snowmobiling on the glacier with the team in Southcoast Adventure which was a real highlight of an amazing week in Iceland. Going up and down in the modified vehicle was nearly as cool as the snowmobiling itself. Our 2 guides were super informative and helpful and did all they could to make sure that we had a great time. Couldn't recommend them more highly

A fun experience - My husband enjoyed the experience of snowmobiling, while I enjoyed the journey to and from the base camp more. Both of the guides Ingvar and Alex, were helpful and gave us insight into the local area and the process of snowmobiling. We were given warm protective suits, helmet, goggles and gloves, to keep out the cold. At the time of our visit most of the lower snow had melted and it was misty on the glacier summit, so the view towards the south coast was good but limited. Overall the atmosphere and scenery was great and it was well worth the trip. We feel this activity is probably more suited to a younger age group that ourselves (60+), who have strong shoulders and arms, to ease the driving of the snowmobile, but it was still fun.

Not so great … done this in January with another company through Viator and was much better - This glacier was not very remarkable Having done this before with another tour company I know the difference… they did not supply boots for gloves, and that was a surprise. We went in our own footwear with just regular gloves. The last company I did this with gave us head to tow gear and that was a great comfort.
