EastWest is THE tour company to use in Iceland - For our first trip to Iceland I did a TON of research and looked into every day tour company and tour available from Reykjavik. I decided on EastWest for our group of 5 and we couldn't be happier with our decision!
We did three day tours with them; Golden Circle, South Coast, and Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
We specifically chose this company for Golden Circle because they include lunch at the Tomato Farm instead of just a quick visit with limited time to eat like many other tours do.
South Coast ended up being our favorite of the three tours.
We had a different guide every day; our favorites were Leroy and Almar. I loved how they did pickups in the morning and it all made so much sense operationally. We saw all the other tours and companies while traveling around and we definitely seemed to do better time wise and sightseeing wise than some of the other companies with bonus stops and crowd levels.
Will definitely use EastWest again on our next trip back!

Amazing - We took the South Coast Day Tour on our first full day in Iceland - the tour was full of majestic and stunning Natural Wonders and we were fortunate to have a tour guide, Baldvin, that brought all of this to life with his extensive knowledge and understanding one would not find in every book. He also rearranged our sightseeing stops due to the unpredictable wind and rain that Iceland faces throughout the day allowing us to enjoy our tour in the midst of the weather. This is a MUST DO tour. Thank you to EastWest.

South Coast Excellence - Our guide, Baldvin, was Excellent! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great timing for all the stops. He added an extra waterfall visit to Urriðafoss which was well worth it and much appreciated. The scenery was spectacular. I highly recommend this tour.

Saw so much and loved the tour guide! - We so enjoyed this tour and glad we signed up for it. Learned more in one day about Iceland than we have on this whole trip. Simon Adolph is hilarious and knowledgeable. He didn't rush us at any point, just make sure we got to see everything and we lucked out with perfect weather too. Take his tour if you can, I can't imagine anyone better for this experience.

Excellent tour guide Einar and excellent way to see and learn a lot about stunningly beautiful Iceland! - The van driver and tour guide Einar absolutely made this one of the best and fun tours I have ever taken. With only a few days to see as much of Iceland as I possibly could, I signed up for the 10-hour, small group EastWest South Coast Tour.
Forced off a cruise ship due to needing emergency surgery, I thought my vacation was ruined. My surgeon recommended that I extend my stay in Reykjavik for a few extra days to recover before flying home to California. Not wanting to go home empty handed, I looked into tours that would show me as much of Iceland as possible. At the same time, the tour must be easy, no stress and comfortable. I figured there would be a lot of time riding in the van to rest and nap as needed.
Einar picked me up in a newer luxury Mercedes van at bus stop #8 at Hallgrimskirkja, the striking church in Reykjavik at 8:45 a.m. After picking up a few more fellow tourists we headed to the beautiful South Coast of Iceland. Although all of the stops ranged from beautiful to stunning, showing off why Iceland has become the "it" destination, it was Einar's humor, wealth of knowledge, attention to detail and delivery of fun and "did you know" nuggets of information that made his tour rise to the cream of the crop.
Einar's adventure tourism background is impressive. I am fairly well traveled, and he is one of the few guides who has the personality, energy, education and experience to be extremely informative and entertaining. Einar exuded great Icelandic pride while covering everything from the Icelandic culture, language (including spelling!) history, people, food, geology, economy, and industries to household lives and routines relating his personal experiences growing up Icelandic. One of the biggest takeaways was Einar was a complete foodie just like me!
While on the tour, I noticed little things Einar would do for every passenger. He would take time to chat with each person and/or family on his tour, offer each person/party a personalized recommendation list of what else to do and where to eat because he loves to eat, again, just like me. Where most drivers/guides will talk about the next destination and then drop off the passengers, Einar accompanied his tour group on every stop so that he can point out perspectives we may miss, and of course, take photos for and with us.
At a couple of stops, Einar approached me and offered an actual "taste" of a popular native plant and discussed the local fauna and foliage as well as the glacier waters that populate the rivers and cascading down lush but rugged cliffsides. As a fellow foodie, he gave me several amazing restaurant recommendations tailored to my strict diet due to my very, incredibly recent surgery. More importantly, Einar kept an eye on me (accept once when he thought I was already on the van, but I forgave him) and made sure I was OK. In the end, Einar's larger than life personality won me over and I would absolutely go on any tour he is assigned to.
One final thought, for the entire length of the tour, I did not nap or even close my eyes once to rest like I had planned to until the final ride back to Reykjavik only because Einar gave everyone a chance to rest. That speaks volumes.
