It ranks as the second tallest sitting statue globally. The trust initiated the statue’s construction to honor the 1,000th birth anniversary of Ramanuja. The project, with an estimated cost of ₹1,000 crore (US$110 million), was primarily funded through donations from devotees.
- Birla Mandir - Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple located on a 280-foot (85 m) high hillock known as Naubath Pahad, covering a 13-acre (53,000 m2) area in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Naubat Pahad, historically referred to as Band Rock, was a site where official announcements from the Mughals to the Nizams were made, accompanied by music. The temple’s construction spanned ten years and was inaugurated in 1976 by Swami Ranganathananda of the Ramakrishna Mission. The Birla Foundation, responsible for building several similar temples across India, constructed this temple, all of which are known as Birla Mandir.
