- Lavdara Otok (Lavdara Island) - Lavdara Island – Sandy Beach and Initial Swimming Stop on a Boat Tour to Kornati
Lavdara is a quaint island situated near Dugi Otok, on the northern side of the Zadar archipelago. While not officially part of Kornati National Park, it serves as the first stop on boat tours heading towards Kornati – particularly for a morning swim and relaxation before entering the park.
Why Choose Lavdara as the First Stop?
✅ Sandy beach: Lavdara boasts several coves with shallow, sandy bottoms – ideal for swimming, especially for families with children.
✅ Crystal-clear sea: The water is exceptionally clean and clear, perfect for snorkeling and unwinding.
✅ Peaceful start to the trip: The sea is typically calm in the morning, and Lavdara provides a perfect balance between gentle swimming and preparing for a full-day adventure.
- Kornati Islands National Park - Once inside Kornati National Park, the tour cruises along the dramatic Kornati cliffs, offering breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
- Levrnaka - The second stop is at the stunning Lojena Beach on the island of Levrnaka – a white pebble beach surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing.
- Church of Our Lady of Tarac - After enjoying free time at Lojena Beach on Levrnaka Island, the tour heads toward Suha Punta for a delicious lunch at one of the traditional island taverns. On the way, guests will pass by the chapel of Our Lady of Tarac and the stone memorial crosses placed on the hill above the bay – built in honor of the twelve firefighters who tragically lost their lives in 2007 while fighting a wildfire on Kornati. This powerful memorial serves as a lasting tribute to their sacrifice and remains deeply rooted in the region’s collective memory.
- Kornat Island - Suha Punta is one of the most charming bays in the Kornati archipelago, located on the eastern side of Kornat Island. The bay is well-sheltered from the wind, with crystal-clear turquoise waters and a rugged natural shoreline, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the true island atmosphere.
Here you’ll find a few traditional Dalmatian taverns, where guests can taste local specialties – typically fresh fish, octopus, lamb, or cured ham, all served with local wine or herbal brandy.
The peaceful setting and rustic charm of Suha Punta offer a welcome break during the day’s excursion – a true taste of the Kornati way of life.
