Located on the Reyknanes Peninsula is our globe-crossing airport, yet many of our guests head directly into the city, missing the wondrous experience of our country’s youngest region. This remarkable location offers the unique opportunity to literally walk between North America and Europe over a bridge spanning a geographical rift. The island’s split begins right here and the renowned Blue Lagoon is an ideal stop during your exploration.
We will pay a visit to Gunnuhver, Brimketill, and the Reykjanesviti lighthouse, where the Atlantic ridge emerges from the sea. A pit-stop at the quaint village of Grindavík, a community that has relied on fishing for generations is also quite enjoyable.
Par for the course is a return journey through Hafnarfjörður, famously known as the dwelling of concealed beings. A lively Viking festival, complete with traditional Nordic country attendees clad in Viking attire, becomes the focal point of this charming township during the balmy summer months.
