Muckross, located in the heart of Killarney National Park, is an excellent spot for a day of cycling. Departing from Killarney town, cycle along Muckross Road and cross the Flesk Bridge. Here, you can switch to the cycling path that leads directly into the National Park. Keep in mind that Jaunting cars and pedestrians also use this path.
The path runs parallel to the road for about a kilometer before turning right into Yew Valley Wood and heading towards the 15th-century Muckross Abbey. Take the time to explore the well-preserved ruins and vaulted cloister at the abbey.
