Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Merzouga
Ifrane - The journey begins at 7:30 am with a pick-up from the riad-hotel by the driver, heading towards the enchanting Merzouga- Erg Chebbi Dunes! This seven-hour trip traverses the Middle Atlas Mountains, showcasing some of Morocco’s most captivating landscapes. Ifrane is often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco.
Azrou Cedar Forest - This seven-hour journey continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains, offering some of Morocco’s most captivating scenery. The route passes through the expansive cedar forest.
Midelt - Midway through the journey, there is a stop for lunch in Midelt, a town renowned for its fossils and rocks.
Rissani - The journey proceeds towards Merzouga, with a stop along the way to enjoy a panoramic view of the vast oasis of palm trees in Rissani.
Merzouga Desert - Arrival in Merzouga is around 5 pm, where the guide and camels await. After a brief rest, the camel trekking across the sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi begins. Enjoy the stunning sunset during the camel trek, and after two hours, reach the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. At the desert camp, camels are hobbled, and mint tea is served after dinner. Enjoy stargazing overnight in the tent.
Merzouga / Tinghir / Todra Gorge / Ouarzazate
Tinghir - After a delightful breakfast, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, traveling along the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, which rise like turreted sandcastles along this ancient caravan trading route.
Todgha Gorge - There is free time to explore the Todgha Gorges.
Dades Gorges - The journey passes by the Dades Gorges.
Ouarzazate - In the afternoon, travel along the road of the Kasbahs to Dades Valley before arriving at the hotel La Rose du Vally. Dinner and overnight stay in Dades Valley or Ouarzazate, depending on availability.
Ouarzazate / Ait Ben Haddou / Marrakech
Vallee Des Roses - There is an option to visit one of the Rosewater cooperatives to learn how locals create rose-scented perfumes using distilled rose water.
Ait Ben Haddou - Lunch is at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, followed by a visit to the Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, used as a set for various Hollywood movies, fashion, and commercial shoots. The Kasbah is well-preserved and consists of several Kasbahs appearing as a single unit.
Tizi n Tichka - In the afternoon, the descent through the Atlas Mountains begins, with a photography stop at Tizi Ntichka Pass, passing by various Berber villages with houses made of stones and mud.
Marrakech-Safi - Arrival in Marrakech is in the late afternoon, where the driver will take you to your riad or hotel. This marks the end of the Fes to Marrakech desert tour.
