A beautiful afternoon in the Tuscan hills -truffles hunting, pasta and wine - I take time to write reviews when the experience has been above expectations and meant to be known to others. Such is the case with my recent visit to Cofferi 1242 for a truffle hunt and pasta class with lunch. Be prepared for an afternoon full of adventure and experience at this delightful location. The offering is authentic and beautiful in the Tuscan countryside surrounded by wine fields, olive groves and forest. We begin the adventure with a truffle hunt with an experienced dog and its handler searching for the “black gold”. It was enjoyable to do the hunt and be in nature and learn all about truffles. After our truffle hunt, and the dog did find some, we were brought to an outside terrace location to make pasta over the beautiful landscape. Then after we have made the pasta, we are then taken to sit for our lunch on a terrace over the Olive groves where we enjoyed a meal of Truffle pasta and other delicious foods. This for me, was a truly special Tuscan experience. I was a part of a Tour called Brix -in Italy experience. This visit was a part of an organized tour curated by Brix, Moncton N.B. Canada.

Fantastic & Delicious Experience! - We had the best time truffle hunting and making pasta with this family! We found several truffles which was amazing. We now can make scratch pasta and they prepared the most delicious lunch with the truffles and pasta. They also made a beautiful charcuterie board and served wine!!

Don't miss this intimate opportunity to enjoy and learn from the Best! - If you want to experience Tuscany beyond the postcard-perfect views and exceptional wines, Colleri 1242 is an absolute must. We cannot say enough about the unforgettable experience we had with Fabrizio and Niccolò during a perfect December visit to their family farm. From the moment we arrived, Fabrizio warmly shared the rich history of the farm and his personal journey into crafting his own wines, olive oil, and the remarkable Fogliamaro liqueur. The day began with an exhilarating truffle hunt, with Aria expertly sniffing out black truffles right before our eyes — truly magical. We then rolled up our sleeves to learn how to make fresh pasta, followed by a spectacular spread of local and house-made cheeses and cured meats. The meal continued with our perfectly cooked pasta (covered by the black truffles just dug up) and ended on the sweetest note with Camilla’s homemade apple crisp — pure comfort and perfection. This is more than a tour; it’s an intimate, heartfelt immersion into Tuscan life, hospitality, and tradition. And don’t forget to ask to meet Colonnello the donkey and the two adorable goats — they’re part of the family charm. Colleri 1242 is an experience we’ll treasure forever and highly recommend to anyone seeking a truly authentic Tuscan vacation.

Great experience - We had an awesome time. Really enjoyed the hike to look for truffles with Luca and his dog Tabu. Tabu was such a cute dog and was successful in finding the truffles. Brava Tabu as Luca would say and reward him with treats after his find. The family at this farmhouse were so hospitable and we enjoyed making the pasta and the fabulous pasta meal with the truffles afterwards! What a great memory! Would recommend!

Truffle outing and pasta day. - The property is lovely. Great views. We met the dog and walked through woods on a slope. Important to wear sturdy footwear. Tabo (the dog) found truffles. After our hunt we made pasta for our lunch. Very fun. Highly recommend meeting this family.

Exceptional experience in Chianti - We have been to Italy many, many times for work in the food industry and have been on quite a few food related tours. This experience was warm, personal, interesting, and detailed. Leaning more about the truffle business was enlightening, walking through the forest with Luca and his dog Taboo was uniquely fun. We also had a nice Conversation about the economic forces in Tuscany and impacts on family farming. All around Bravo!

The highlight of our trip to Italy! - Wow! What an experience this was! From the moment we stepped onto this beautiful property we were blown away. We really enjoyed going through the forest and following the sweet dog Taboo and his owner Luca. They got to work right away and found many delicious black truffles. Amazing! The pasta making lesson taught by the father was excellent. We learned many great tips and are looking forward to making fresh pasta at home . The father and son brought out a delicious charcuterie board , made an incredible Cacio Pepe sauce , and served delicious wine and desert. What a kind family and we feel so lucky we were able to experience the tour!
