So much fun! - So much more prettier than expected. You can rent water shoes if you forget yours. They are good. It is a pretty good hike up the hill, but definitely worth the trip.

You Will Not Regret Booking This!! - This tour was a 10/10!!! Our tour guide, Nelson, from Edgar Tours was AMAZING and then some! He was very informative and made everything about our travel experience in DR above and beyond special! From the very beginning our experience with this tour company was simple and very clear and communicative! And the waterfalls! WOW, AMAZING! Their guides and photographers were over the top! Highly recommend!

Best tour guide, safe, fun - We had the best experience on this waterfall excursion! Highly recommend but make sure you're ready for a lot of steps! They give plenty of breaks along the way but make sure you have a disposable bottle of water for the trip to the top. Also, make sure you have water shoes with a somewhat solid sole because there are a lot of rocks and pebbles along the way. Helmet and life jacket are provided by the park. Edgar's Tours was the best! Good communication before and during the trip. Highly recommend the waterfalls and Egdar's Tours!

Best tour service and safe, friendly tour guide! - We absolutely loved having Jose as our tour guide! A big family like ours is sometimes difficult to accommodate but Edgar Private Tours knocked it out of the park! Our trip was exactly as advertised and we felt safe the whole trip. Jose did a great job giving us a full experience talking about the Dominican culture, food and making us feel like family the whole time! We were able to leave our personal belongings in the tour van which was locked the whole time we were on our waterfall experience and saved us the hassle and expense of renting a locker. The meal after the waterfall tour was delicious as well. We would highly recommend this tour service and will be booking with them again if we return to rhe Puerto Plata area!

My family of 6 had a... - My family of 6 had a great time going on the tour. The transportation was great getting us there in our own van. Please get better information before hand to find where to be picked up to go on the tour as we had no internet to get the information after we started our trip. The waterfalls themselves were so much fun and we wanted to go back and do them all over again once we were done!

Great experience - Had a great experience. Jose and Nelson were awesome. They took care of us very well. Catered to our needs. Even modified the itinerary to accommodate our requests. Lunch was awesome. Hot salsa was the best ever.

Fun times and great guide - We were very happy with this tour. Gerson from Edgar Private Tours was fantastic. Communication and transportation was good and we got to the Damajagua waterfalls quickly and handed off to the falls guides. We were the first group of the day (and the only ship in port that day), so we got to do one of the falls twice. The much larger cruise excursion group was just showing up when we were leaving, I was happy we booked separately! It is a good amount of walking, up and then down, but there are frequent stops (probably too frequent IMO). The falls themselves are fun, though there are only 4 of them where you slide. The experience of dropping down the ladder into the canyon is memorable! I wish there were more falls because they are fun! We were done with the falls ahead of schedule, so Gerson gave us some options and we decided to go into town. We went to the gem, chocolate and coffee factories/stores, Umbrella Street and the main square. We had been outside the port area before on a previous trip and it was nice to have a local guide. Lunch was chicken, rice and beans at a local place where the locals were lining up. It was very good! All and all, this was one of the family favorites from our cruise where everyone had a good time.

Awesome experience all around - This was an awesome experience made easy by Edgar Private Tours. They pick you up just outside the cruise ship terminal and drive you straight to the falls and get you going quickly! When it’s done they are waiting for you, feed you and get you back to the ship. Top experience!

Not recommended for kids under 8 - I booked this for my family to all enjoy. I have a 5 year old grandson and 6 1/2 year old granddaughter. I made sure to look at all the given information in regards to any restrictions for the kids. I did not see anything that told me that the kids would not be able to do the normal falls. So once we got there, I had to do the walk to the last small fall (they were not even allowed to go down the small slide at the waterfall) with the grandkids while my husband, son and his wife did the 2 1/2 hour trek up the mountain to the 7 falls. They really enjoyed it. But had I had known that we could not all be together, I would have just stayed at the port to enjoy the pools and lazy river with the grandkids.

Much more physical excursion than in description! - There were good and bad things about this experience for us. First of all, we were taken to the falls in a spotless, air conditioned car- just the two of us. After this, we were given life jackets and helmets and pointed in the direction we were supposed to go- we weren't sure if we were part of any particular group or not, which was kind of weird. After walking across a huge bridge, we were met by who we guessed was our guide. We began the hike to the falls, and believe me, it was a hike! It was mostly uphill and climbing up steps at a fairly brisk pace. My husband and I are 54 and in fairly good shape and did ok. Others in our group struggled a bit. We hiked for probably 45 minutes up, up, up and then back down a steep set of steps. Once we finally got to where we would get into the water, it was a steep backwards climb down a wooden ladder. We walked in ankle deep water for a while until we reached the first slide. We felt VERY rushed through each slide, and we were only able to jump once. The time in the water seemed very frantic- and that's too bad, because it could have been amazing! There was also some slight climbing on some pretty slippery rocks in certain parts. The scenery was beautiful, but we think they were just trying to rush as many people as they could through the area that it really took away from our experience. After this, we began the hike back, which was mostly level, but in and out of the water. Our driver met us back at the life jacket/ helmet return and directed us to where lunch was. I would skip lunch. It was fine, but just sub par buffet food and a bottled water. Our driver was there as soon as we finished eating, and took us directly back to the port. I assume this is the same experience as booking through the ship, but much cheaper. It was a little unsettling for just my husband and I to jump into a car with a stranger. They never even asked our names or scanned our tickets!
