Imlil - Following an early breakfast at the hotel in Marrakech, the driver will pick up the group and transport them to the heart of Morocco’s High Atlas mountains. The trek begins from Imlil (1740m), located 67km southwest of Marrakech. Here, the team that will accompany the group during the trek will be met. The muleteers will handle the luggage, food, and all other equipment typically provided for clients. Within half an hour, the walk will commence with an experienced mountain guide through the Berber villages, following a mule track leading to the mountain hut via the shrine Sidi Chamhrouch (2500m), where lunch will be served. After lunch and a brief rest, the journey continues towards the refuge (3200m), approximately 5 hours of walking.
Trek to The Summit of Jebel Toubkal & Return to Imlil and Marrakech.
Toubkal - Early in the morning, the group will attempt to reach the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. The route ascends the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. While the walking is relatively straightforward, the scree and altitude can make certain sections challenging. The views along the way make the journey exceptionally rewarding. Upon reaching the summit, the vistas across the surrounding landscape are truly breathtaking. From this vantage point, there are unobstructed views in every direction, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. The group will retrace their steps to descend the mountain and head back towards Imlil, followed by a transfer to Marrakech.
