Balikaru - Begin with a pickup and a scenic drive through the lush tropical landscape, stopping for photos at the flower market in Mengwi before arriving at the mountain village. Enjoy a leisurely walk and visit a local farmer’s place. If fortunate, witness the farmer and his water buffalo at work.
Receive a warm welcome at BALIKARU and an introduction to the Rindik, a traditional Balinese instrument. Feel free to try playing its unique monotone sound.
Take a guided tour of the organic herb & spice garden, featuring over 40 plant varieties. At the Jamu Pavilion, create and sample two types of Jamu, Indonesia’s ancient and potent health drink.
Proceed to Paon Bali, the open-air Balinese kitchen, where you can learn to cook an authentic Balinese meal with guidance from our chef. Relish a delicious lunch while enjoying the peace of village life and nature.
After lunch, you’ll have the energy to assist the farmer with rice planting. On your return, wander through the charming village with mountain views, engage with locals, and visit a traditional house to learn about the authentic Asta Kosala architecture, influenced by Balinese Feng Shui.
