Highly recommend for solo hiker to Mt. Agung - If you’re planning to climb Mount Agung alone, I highly recommend this travel agency! I compared several options, and their price is very reasonable. They also provide convenient hotel pickup and drop-off directly to the Mount Agung trailhead. The driver, Desuja, was extremely friendly and professional. When I accidentally overpaid him, he immediately returned the extra money — very honest person! The guide they work with was also excellent.

Unforgettable experience - The sunrise from the summit of Mount Agung is absolutely breathtaking – an unforgettable experience. However, the hike is extremely challenging, and the descent is even tougher, with steep and technical terrain. Best suited for those in good physical shape and ready for a real adventure!

- Everything about this trip was amazing. The driver was prompt and professional, the host very responsive to queries and the local guides amazing. They are such genuine people and really understand the mountain. It is hard at times but safety is a priority , no crowds and the views are incredible. This is one of the best and most rewarding excursions I have ever done

Unforgettable experience! - We had an unforgettable experience with Kadek (driver) and Darta (guide) during the sunrise hike! Everything was well prepared and we felt safe and supported during the whole trip. It’s a challenging and exhausting hike but the sunrise and view are absolutely worth every step! Better be prepared: hike or trail shoes and warm clothes make your life easier and the hike more fun.

Worst guided trekking experience - 1. Only one guide knows English... 2. Unprofessional guiding, they only trekked with us, no communication at all 3. Didn't have a first aid kit.. Putu was our driver and he was kind, passionate and accompanied our friend at Besakih Temple who decided to returned midway, he even drove us to find beer and supplies after the trek on our request, he was amazing, I wish I could say the same for our guides... Mount Agung Besakih Route is not for beginners, we are experienced hikers, we were the last team to start trekking, we became the first to arrive at the summit, many other "tourists" were seemingly inexperienced and was hit hard by the long and steep ascent, one group of trekkers took over 20 hours when we see them sitting on the side of the trail. Near the summit, more tourists were hiding from the wind and cold with their emergency blanket. we were the first team to finish the route and got back to the foot of the mountain, with no other teams in sight at all, I doubt they could finish the route in time. There was a lot of burnt trees as aftermath from previous forest fire as a result of campfires. A lot of trash along the trail, it's clear this route is not well maintained or managed in a sustainable way, unprofessional guiding and hiking ethnics, a fact that the tour appear on Klook/ KKday lures a lot of first-timers or inexperienced hikers into this arduous trail, many came unprepared for what's to come. I wouldn't recommend this route for beginners.

Horrible Guide - Hiking Mt Agung was an amazing experience. It is absolutely not easy, and we suffered as two people who are very fit experienced hikers, but in the end was still very rewarding.. Our issue with this hike was our guide, whose name escapes me because he barely introduced himself or interacted with us the entire 13 hours we were out there with him. He started off at a blazing pace and barely slowed down when asked multiple times. We figured we had a timeline to hit which is why he did that, but we ended up waiting for an hour 3/4 the way up so we would not be waiting around for sunrise in the cold at the summit. So really he just wanted to do his own thing. He would speed ahead, then wait for us and make us feel like we were holding him back. He didn’t care at all about our safety when we were navigating some treacherous parts in the dark. On the way down it felt like we were annoying him by being “slow”. Turns out we were one of the first groups up and down so it wasn’t us. Making it worse was observing other guides staying with their clients, giving advice and just generally having normal conversation in broken English. My partner hiked up Rinjani 2 years ago and had a completely different experience, her guide was friendly, supportive and encouraging. Conclusion: we highly recommend the hike, and strongly suggest to Viator to not assign this guide to others. We wish we had gone through a local recommendation rather than Viator.
