- Pondok Mbah Kakong - Begin your culinary journey with a convenient pick-up from your chosen location in the Bintan Resort Area or the Ferry Terminal, whisking you away from the city’s hustle to the tranquil countryside. After a short, scenic drive through lush villages, you will arrive at PONDOK MBAH KAKONG, where a welcoming cup of coffee or herbal tea awaits. This marks the start of an authentic farm-to-table experience.
Equipped with a bamboo basket and a harvesting knife, you will set off on a guided tour of the organic farm. Your guide will explain the fundamentals of Bintan agriculture, showing how organic natural pesticides are made and how local plants can be used for medicinal purposes.
You will actively gather fresh vegetables and spices—such as long beans, chilies, and lemongrass—that will be used in your upcoming cooking class. The cooking session is held in our outdoor kitchen, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. You will collaborate in a communal cooking area, fostering a vibrant and cooperative atmosphere.

The belief is that the finest flavors come from fresh ingredients, which is why a unique “Cook-Eat-Cook-Eat” method is adopted. Instead of waiting until the end for a cold meal, the cooking process is divided into stages.
