A beautiful experience - The Alpenzoo in Innsbruck offers a great insight into the wildlife of the Alps and Central Europe. Other rare animals such as lynx and wildcat can also be admired. Especially many birds can be found here. The information is well structured and not overloaded. Attention: The parking lots are quickly full, so it is best to arrive with the Hungerburgbahn!

Very nice location for kids until 13 years old, not bigger - Very nice place to visit with young children. You need to spend at least 2.5 hours because is a lot to walk and many animals. The only problem is that all the information is only in German language.

Rustic Zoo - This zoo is what one would expect from a city zoo. The zoo is on the side of the mountain and I would advise taking the bus or other means of transportation other then a car as it was very difficult to navigate to. I like the more rustic feel of the exhibits. Be prepared to walk and experience a full calf work out.

Beautiful zoo to visit with children - Lovely zoo for children. Stays well dressed. Lots of education for kids. Beautiful views due to location in mountain

Disappointing - If you read the performance on the internet and what it has to offer, I was personally a bit disappointed with this zoo. We have visited some on our trips and these were much more appealing and interesting. The pools also needed cleaning and fresh water replenishment!

Lovely view. Zoo was ok - The view was terrific. The environment for the animals was subpar and unclean. Very smelly. Many animals appeared in ill health.

Cable car ride great but zoo disappointing. Better to continue the cable car ride to the top of Innsbruck! - The zoo was disappointing. Some birds in aviaries, one brown bear all alone, a few goats, hens, rabbits. Not much to see and all looked a bit run down.

AVOID! Bear enclosure smaller than the children’s playground! - AVOID! They have crammed far too many animals into this tiny zoo. The bear enclosure is tiny, with the bears visibly bored and rubbing their heads on the glass. THEIR ENCLOSURE IS SMALLR THAN THE CHILDRENS PLAYGROUND! Other animals were pacing back and forth and trying to climb out. Birds were in small cages. Pools were dirty. AVOID AND DO A NATURE TOUR INSTEAD!

Very sad zoo - The zoo was terrible. Little songbirds in small cages. No need for bluetits, nuthatches and finches to be in such small cages. As a bird lover, it wasn’t nice to see them so cooped up. There were plenty to see out in the surrounding woods. All enclosures were too small. The bear looked really sad just pacing past the window. Wish we’d given this a miss. The whole zoo just looked pitiful.

Stop the massacre!!! - That is clearly not the best aspect of the man who expresses himself here. I am outraged and so uncomfortable to see these animals of the great outdoors imprisoned in tiny enclosures or aviaries. I apologize to all these poor beasts in the name of men. Close this space and release them, especially the little ones who are condemned to a life of ordeal with a nice view of the Alps and what their real life could be. In an age of artificial telelugence, yes could do better than that, right? Get your head out and come up with a super interesting interactive concept, but please, release these poor beasts
