• Eparchiaki Odos Agnanton - Lazena - The adventure begins at the remarkable Plaka Bridge, a magnificent single-arch stone structure standing 20 meters high and 40 meters wide, making it the largest in the Balkans. Participants are fully equipped with specialized rafting gear before embarking downstream. No previous rafting experience is necessary for this thrilling journey, which navigates waters with a challenging Class III WW difficulty level, allowing participants to admire the vibrant reflections. As the group paddles through the river, they are surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the environment. The canyon walls soar up to 700 meters, enhancing the dramatic scenery and providing stunning views of the Arachthos Gorge and its pristine waters. In winter, the waterfall is full and roaring, while in summer, some parts of the riverbed may be barely covered with water, with certain areas even running dry. After an exhilarating 9-kilometer descent, the rafting adventure concludes at the Tzari area. Participants are then transported back to Alpine Zone’s base, located just a few meters beyond the Plaka Bridge, where friendly staff offer traditional syrupy sweets, refreshing water, changing rooms, and washing facilities.

For the 2026 season, due to unexpected events and ongoing road construction in the Tzoumerka area, local authorities and the Municipality of Tzoumerka have instructed us to alter our traditional trail, which has been in use for many years, for safety reasons. Alpine Zone is dedicated to providing the highest quality experience for all our guests, ensuring safety, enjoyment, and memorable moments on Greece’s premier river despite these specific circumstances. Although this is a temporary adjustment, we are confident that the situation will be resolved soon, and we look forward to returning to our usual route.
