- Tower of Markellos - The Markellos Tower, dating back to the 17th century, was part of the fortifications protecting the harbor and served as a Venetian watchtower. Renovated in 1802 by an Aeginean, it hosted Greek freedom fighters and politicians during the 1821 revolution. From 1826, it accommodated the Temporary Government, the Deputy Committee (1827), the National Fund, and the Government House, and during Kapodistrias’ administration, it housed various ministers.
- Aegina Waterfront - Enjoy a drink with meze at a traditional old café in the port of Aegina.
- AEGINA DREAM TRAVEL - Unable to add the actual location, so the office was added instead. This step highlights the Cathedral of Aegina, the first Cathedral of Modern Free Greece, featuring three aisles and three red domes. In the Metropolitan church, Aegineans welcomed Governor Kapodistrias on January 11, 1828, and a few days later, on January 28, Kapodistrias’ inauguration ceremony took place as the first Governor of the Greek State and the Panhellenic Council that formed the interim Governmental committee.

Tassos was a great guide! - A comprehensive walking tour of the island’s history and culture and geography. Tassos was extremely knowledgeable and brought great energy to the tour! We loved seeing the streets, churches, port, museums, and ruins before concluding with drinks at a restaurant. I have never been on a tour where I got the chance to sit down and talk with the tour guide. He was such a kind and personable local who made this tour AMAZING!!

Walking tour with a young and very knowledgeable guide - My friend and I booked this 3 hr walking tour in Aegina. The young guide met us at the pier and took us through town to the museum and his knowledge of the antiquities wqa amazing and very interesting. We saw Kovolos, the ancient church and walked through the streets of the town. All the while he was giving us information, te
Ling stories and answering our questions.
A really great tour well done.

The guide skillfully connected the dots between the island's past and recent history. Tour was relaxed and pleasant. Boo - The guide was excellent, a young local licensed professional guide, a native of the island. A true connoisseur of the place. Tour was relaxed and pleasant, very nice museum and temple. Equally nice tour in the neighborhood, hints about what to visit next on solo, about history, traditions and local food. Thanks for a great experience!

Fantastic walking tour with fabulous guide - We were in Aegina for 3 days and wanted to learn about the island before relaxing on beach. This tour was perfect for our needs. Our guide Tasso is a highly intelligent, extremely knowledgeable and friendly person making for the perfect guide. He is so well informed and passionate about this island he grew up on. He answered all our questions with in depth explanations and gave deep, thoughtful and detailed information. Walking Tour was about 3 hours but Tassos made sure we had cold water and rest stops when needed. We ended with a drink, yummy appetizers and fantastic conversation. So glad we booked this tour- we highly recommend!

Excellent introduction to Aegina - We knew nothing of Aegina but decided to go over for the day as it was so close to Athens (40 minutes by fast ferry from Piraeus). So glad we did the town walking tour. It is a beautiful place and very different pace and vibe to Athens. Our guide Tassos was very friendly and knowledgeable being a local. We had a good cross section of very old history and modern culture. Thanks to Tassos and Aegina Dream Travel for a memorable experience. Would recommend to anyone.
