Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Laodicea Tour – Flight Back to Istanbul or Transfer to Kusadasi / Ephesus District by Car
Pamukkale Natural Park - Pamukkale, Turkey, is a must-visit for nature and history enthusiasts. For centuries, visitors have left feeling refreshed. Today’s guided tour offers experiences at the white travertines of Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis, located in Pamukkale Natural Park.
Hierapolis & Pamukkale - Highlights of the Hierapolis Ancient City include the Necropolis, Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Latrina, Oil Factory, Frontinus Street, Agora, Byzantium Gate, Triton Fountain, Cathedral, Apollon Temple, Plutonium, Theater, and Antique Pool. Capture photos from the most picturesque spots in Pamukkale during your visit to these ancient ruins.
Pamukkale Thermal Pools - After exploring the Hierapolis Ancient City, enjoy 60-75 minutes of free time to discover the natural beauty of Pamukkale and swim in the white travertines - thermal pools (or the antique pool - Cleopatra’s pool for an extra fee). Then, reunite with your guide and walk barefoot from the top to the bottom of the travertines.
Cleopatra Pools - Above the Pamukkale white travertine pools lies a particularly stunning location fed by the same hot springs. Here, you can bathe in the same waters Cleopatra once enjoyed! A professionally managed modern spa facility allows you to experience these historic healing waters. Unlike the white water of the lower pools, the Antique Pool favored by Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, is pure, clear, warm water. It was once topped by a Roman Temple to Apollo with an ornate roof supported by Doric columns. Imagine Cleopatra’s experience in its glory days.
Pamukkale - Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, with today’s lunch included in the guided tour.
Karahayit - After lunch, participate in a traditional handicraft workshop to learn about the special stones and metals of Pamukkale.
Laodicea - Excavations here have uncovered artifacts dating from 3500 BC (Late Chalcolithic) to 3000 BC (Early Bronze Age). The city’s name originates from the Seleucid king Antiochus II, who named it after his wife Laodike in the 3rd century BC when it was flourishing. Later controlled by the kings of Pergamum, it was bequeathed to the Roman Empire and thrived again from the 4th to 6th centuries. Its significance placed it among the Seven Churches of Revelation.
İstanbul - Choose to return to Istanbul by flight or connect this trip to the Kusadasi/Ephesus district by car at the tour’s conclusion. If you opt to return to Istanbul, you will be transferred to Denizli airport for your flight back. Upon arrival in Istanbul, your driver will be ready to meet you and take you to your hotel.
