Excellent surprise in Istanbul! - n October of 2025, our cruise stopped in Istanbul for an overnight stay. We booked what we thought was a dining cruise, but actually was a walking food tour. Our guide, FATİH KELEK was a wonderful surprise. He met us at the port, and we experienced the spice market, on a Saturday afternoon! Then we took a ferry over to the opposite shore, and walked through a food heaven. He told us about the local, fresh ingredients, & how many of the restaurants have been in business for generations. We stopped by at least 5 of these spots, & enjoyed the unique tastes from a large variety of dishes & offerings. Fatih built the choices around our preferences & interests.
If you’re looking for a unique food experience, you can’t go wrong with this choice.

Fantastic food tour - We met up at the Spice Bazaar, and tasted a variety of teas and Turkish delight. We then took the ferry to the Asian side of town and tried a variety of foods from different restaurants. Emel was great company, listened to our needs and was highly informative. Many thanks.

A special, wonderful day of new culinary experiences - There's not one thing about this experience that could have been better. Emel was an excellent guide: warm, knowledgeable and considerate. She bent over backwards to make sure we enjoyed the food and learned a bit--both of which she accomplished. Highly recommend.

A wonderful experience. Highly recommend. - We had a wonderful tour with Emel. A great way to start our first visit to Instanbul and Turkey. She was friendly, informative, and knowledgeable. Loved the places, the food, and the people / establishments she took us to. She had a lovely, friendly, courteous, and professional way with the establishment owners. We felt we had been given a local insight into Istanbul and Turkey. It was a great experience which we would highly recommend.

Fun with food - I had Emel as my guide and she was very caring and tailored the tour to my tastes. We stopped at several restaurants and shops on the Asian side starting with savory dishes and ending with dessert. The tour did not last as long as stated in the description but we did cover several stops and had plenty to eat. The tour does state that they will meet you at your hotel but if transportation is needed to get from hotel to ferry it will be at your expense. I would definitely recommend Emel as a guide and if you like to try different foods then this tour will be a good experience.
