- Corinth Canal - The journey begins by traveling along the coastal highway towards the Peloponnese. Along the way, you will pass the Saronic Gulf, the site of the historic Naval Battle of Salamis in 480 B.C. between the Greeks and Persians. The first stop is the renowned Corinth Canal (Isthmus), which links the Corinthian Gulf with the Saronic Gulf and separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of the Greek mainland.
- Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - The tour proceeds to Ancient Corinthos. While exploring the archaeological site, you will encounter the Temple of Apollo (situated on a rocky hill), the Theatre, the Roman Odeon, the Glauke fountain carved into natural rock, and the Archaeological Museum. Additionally, there is the notable “Vema” (tribunal) where St. Paul addressed the Corinthians. Finally, you will visit the archaeological museum.
- Archaeological Site Mycenae - The next destination is the renowned Mycenae (the Kingdom of King Agamemnon). Here, you will marvel at the Lions’ Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the Treasure of Atreus (Agamemnon’s Tomb), and the Subterranean Cistern. - Nafplio - The tour continues with a drive to Nafplio, a charming and historic seaport town that served as Greece’s first capital after the Greek Revolution from 1821 until 1834. You will wander through the picturesque streets of the old town, admiring classical governmental buildings, particularly in Constitution Square. Enjoy a meal or coffee while taking in the view of the famous Bourtzi castle located in the harbor of Nafplio. You will also visit the renowned Palamidi Castle. The tour concludes with the return journey to Athens.
