- Corinth Canal - The journey begins with a 45-mile drive along the National Highway towards the Peloponnese.
Along the way, the tour reaches the renowned Corinth Canal, also known as the Isthmus Canal, which links the Saronic and Corinthian Seas.
After a brief stop for photographs, the tour continues with a ten-minute drive through fields of orange and lemon trees, arriving at the ancient port of Kechries, one of Corinth’s two ports, which facilitated eastern trade routes via the Saronic Gulf.
- Ancient Port of Kenchreai - Corinth was a vibrant and affluent city, famous for its commercial success and moral challenges, strategically positioned on the Isthmus connecting mainland Greece with the Peloponnese.
The port likely served as a departure point for Paul when he left Corinth on his third missionary journey towards Ephesus (Acts 18:18).
- Apostolos Pavlos Church - From there, the tour proceeds to the village of Examilia, approximately a 10-minute drive, following the path Apostle Paul walked during his time in Corinth.
The tour will then pause at the small Church of Apostle Paul in Ancient Corinth, before proceeding to the archaeological site of ancient Corinth.
- Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - Here, visitors will see the Bema (step) in the ancient agora of Corinth, where Apostle Paul passionately shared the faith of Jesus with the ancient city.
Paul resided in Corinth for about 18 months during his second missionary journey, around 50–52 AD (Acts 18:1-18). To support himself, Paul worked as a tentmaker alongside his ministry (Acts 18:3), a skill he had previously acquired.
His letters to the Corinthians are among the earliest Christian writings, providing insight into the early church’s life and theology. His renowned 1st Epistle to the Corinthians continues to inspire and is considered one of the most beautiful texts of Christianity.
- Archaeological Museum of Corinth - While at the archaeological site, visitors may also explore the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth, which, although not directly related to Paul, contains a vast collection of artifacts from the surrounding area.
- Temple of Apollo - Within the site, visitors can also view the Temple of Apollo, dedicated to the god of oracles and the sun. Constructed around 560 B.C.E., it is one of the earliest Doric temples on the Greek mainland. Nearby are the remains of the Roman baths, a significant bathing complex from the Roman era.
- Apostolos Pavlos Church - The final stop is at the Metropolitan Church of Apostle Paul in modern Corinth, an impressive cathedral dedicated to the city’s patron saint. The church was constructed in the 1930s on the site of an older church destroyed by the devastating earthquake of 1928.
At the tour’s conclusion, guests will enjoy lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant in Corinth, where they can savor authentic Greek cuisine with its distinctive Mediterranean flavors.
- Athens - The tour concludes with a drive back to Athens via the National Highway (45-mile drive).
