- Corinth Canal - The Corinth Canal stands as one of Greece’s most remarkable feats of engineering. Visitors can witness massive ships navigating a narrow channel carved directly through rock, linking the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. The canal stretches 6.4 km in length, is just 21 meters wide, and its towering limestone walls soar up to 79 meters high, creating a breathtaking visual spectacle.
From the bridges above, there is an awe-inspiring view straight down the canal, particularly when a ship is maneuvering through the confined passage. For adventure enthusiasts, bungee jumping is available during certain seasons. Around the area, visitors can enjoy viewpoints, cafés, and ideal spots for photography.
It’s a brief visit, yet an unforgettable one, offering a glimpse of both natural beauty and daring 19th-century engineering.
- Barafakas Winery - Barafakas Winery is a family-owned estate situated in the heart of Nemea, one of Greece’s renowned wine regions. Guests can tour the vineyards, discover local varieties like Agiorgitiko, and observe the winemaking process in the modern cellar. Tastings occur in a friendly setting with views of the surrounding hills, providing an opportunity to sample sophisticated reds, refreshing whites, and limited-production labels. It’s a leisurely stop that blends tradition, local flavor, and warm Greek hospitality.
The estate was officially established in 1999 by Christos Barafakas, a third-generation viticulturist. His father and grandfather were also vine growers. Besides producing wine from their own vineyards, they also crafted “souma” (a traditional Greek distilled spirit) from wine lees, sourced directly from winemakers’ barrels.
- Domaine Skouras Winery - Skouras Estate is located on the northeastern side of the Peloponnese, in the Argolida region, just a few kilometers from Nafplio, in the village of Malandreni. It is a cutting-edge winemaking facility nestled among vineyards, designed with simple Greek architectural lines and built with two main objectives:
To ensure a flawless winemaking process, upholding the highest standards throughout all stages of production, bottling, aging, and wine preservation.
To provide an exceptional visitor experience, with spaces crafted to host, educate, entertain, and immerse guests in the world of wine. The winery includes the following areas:
The impressive cellar housing 1,000 oak barrels, maintained at a constant temperature of +15°C and 70% humidity, where the wines age under perfect conditions. Here, time, patience, expertise, and numerous tastings ensure the high quality of every barrel, every bottle, every glass, every sip.
