Fantastic Tour of this Historical Region - Fantastic tour of Mycanae, Epidaurus, Napflio and the Corinth Canal. Petros, our driver and guide, was super knowledgeable and did an amazing job of not only showing us the sites but also explaining a lot of the history and significance of what we were going to see. We had alot of time to explore independently and Petros was always prompt picking us up. He made a great recommendation for lunch in Napflio and I would definitely recommend this tour and Petros as your guide.

A memorable day - The beauty of this amazing country cannot be overstated. We were moved by the history , artistry and resilience of the ancient and modern Greeks. Out appreciation was deepened by the akill of our guide Pano. Effortlessly, he gave in depth lessons on the history, religion, mythology and artistic sites on demand. He was humble…but he was a low-key genius! Although he was technically not a guide and did not escort us through the sites we visited, he prepared us thoroughly for what we were about to see before each stop. I was genuinely impressed….and we enjoyed his humility, humor, and love for his country.

Great day trip to get out of Athens - Background: my family (18 and 21 yo boys and wife) are not into history and ruins. I am. It was 110 degrees the day of our tour. First, our driver, Panos, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and shared so many great insights as we drove to each stop. He also answered all my questions along the way. He was spot on for the time allocation at stops and even rearranged the sequence based our early lunch time (we eat earlier than most Greeks!). He also added a few quick spots that were not planned. The itinerary was perfect for us. Mycenae had a nice stroll through the mountainside along with a small but excellent museum of artifacts found (both included in 1 admission). Scenic, historic, and not too difficult but hilly. Nafplio has a lot to offer. Fortresses with great views, charming little town with shops, waterfront restaurants, and more. We skipped the prepaid lunch so we could eat quick and spend more time exploring. Epidaurus is another good stop. Impressive Theatre, several ruins and a small museum (also included in admission price). There are other tours that may give you more history but this tour provided something for everyone in my family and was a great day away from the city.

Mycenae, Epidaurus, and Nafplio - Well worth leaving Athens to experience!! - The Mycenae, Epidaurus, and Nafplio excursion was a wonderful way to get a flavor of the peninsula scenery along with the very well preserved ruins and Lions Gate of Mycenae, and museum. The acoustically amazing theater and treasury of Epidaurus were certainly worth the drive from Athens. An excellent seafood lunch (provided in the price!) on the sailboat-filled docks of Nafplio topped off a perfect day led by our driver/guide, Notis. While he could not accompany us into the various sites, his pre/post discussions were very informative and even entertaining. We absolutely recommend Notis for your private tour guide and very safe driver!!

Excellent day tour from Athens - Our activity provider was “Atheneos Travel & Tours”. Overall the day tour was excellent! Enjoyed all the sights. Booking was easy and communication easy. Started the day with a text confirming pickup time. Went to all the sights advertised: Mycenae (two stops - go to the main ruins as well as the treasury - don’t miss this), Epidairus, Palamidi Fortress, Nafplio, and Corinth Canal. All nice stops. Don’t miss the quick stop at the Corinth Canal, walk the bridge (just a few steps) and get a picture from the middle of the bridge. Breathtaking. You stop at several magnificent ruins and it can get a bit overwhelming but well worth it. You can spend more time at one you like and less at another if you like. I found their recommended times pretty good guides. We walked through all the sites. The Palamidi Palace is HUGE. if you walk it I would recommend going to the “bottom” first and go to the “prison” to see where Theodore Kolokotronis was held. Great views from the bottom entrance area. Go to prison and work your way up and out. At Mycenae , I would recommend taking the main trail first (not Museum) and go through the Lions gate, go to the very top, and then continue to the backside. Once finished with the backside, you can go through a small “gate” (old entrance gate that is only 8 feet tall over you) and walk down to the paved trail/road. This takes you right to the museum. Spend a few minutes there, visit the restrooms, and then exit. The next stop is the treasury which is a little ways back down the road (walk in 5-10min or just ask the driver to stop there). The entrance makes for a nice photo opportunity. Takes 5 minutes. We really enjoyed our guide, the itinerary and would highly recommend this day tour from Athens. They picked us up right outside our hotel.

Excellent tour - Fotis was an excellent tour guide who is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Greece and about all the sites on this tour. He was right on time. He answered all of our questions and was very helpful. We had a wonderful day with him. The sites and views were spectacular and we particularly loved the town of Nafplio.
