Here, participants will learn the unwritten rules of how Romans select their fresh fruits and vegetables daily. • Via Giacinto Carini - Following the market visit, the tour moves to a local deli. This deli is currently managed by two brothers who continue the family business started by their father and uncle in the 1960s. They will prepare a special selection of hams and cheeses from the Roman countryside, accompanied by a glass of wine. Participants will also learn about the ingredients used in popular Roman dishes like carbonara and amatriciana.

• Viale dei Quattro Venti - The next stop is a local bakery, so authentic it doesn’t even have a sign outside! Yet, there’s always a line of locals buying their bread. This bakery is run by Alessia, who took over the business her grandfather started after World War II. The bakery has remained unchanged since then. Here, participants will taste a must-try Roman street food: pizza rossa! This is not the pizza found in restaurants, but the bakery version that children take to school for lunch and adults enjoy while running errands or taking a quick morning break. It’s a pizza often overlooked by tourists but definitely worth trying!

• Viale dei Quattro Venti, 70 - Finally, the tour concludes with gelato! Participants will taste a favorite gelato and learn how to identify the qualities of a good gelato on their own, even after the tour. They will also have the opportunity to see the laboratory where gelato is made.
