Such as, scarlet macaws, toucans, hawks, and falcons. Enjoy different routes up the mountain to extreme views of the pacific coast and hidden waterfalls! An amazing adventure for the whole family.
- Minimum age is 18 years old to drive
- Credit card is required on the day of the tour for security reasons and to complete the tour contract / ATV and Dirt Bike $800 / Side by Side Buggy $1500 /Side by Side Talon $2000, we will place a hold on money and at the end we will release the deposit after inspection.

Must Do in Jaco - AXR is top notch! The service team and guide were incredible. The team helping us plan our 2 hr. adventure was very accommodating and went above and beyond to get us set up with a tour for the afternoon we were spending in Jaco. Our guide, Ninja, knew the region well and made our tour one of the best parts of our trip. I was particularly excited to stop at a roadside cafe that allowed me to converse with a great host that was proud to share lovely facts about this region and introduced me to truly local insights. 10/10 - would recommend!

So much fun!! - We had a great time on our buggy tour with Jan. This was the last excursion we took on our two week trip, and it was a great finale!!
My wife wasn't a huge fan because of the speed in which we traveled through the jungle. She is a stop and soak in the beauty kind of gal and didn't like that we sped past so much beauty without being able to stop and enjoy it all. She did love the waterfalls and being able to swim, though.
My father-in-law and I LOVED every aspect of the tour. My father-in-law drove and wished he could have taken in more of the scenery but fully enjoyed himself other than that.
The only thing that could have made it better for me would have been to drive and make it to the waterfalls myself. I'm in a wheelchair though and knew those things weren't an option for me.
I would recommend this tour and would gladly do it again.

Best Part of Our Trip! - I picked this tour for my family which consisted of myself, my wife, and our two kids age 4 and 1. We had an incredible experience! It was super fun to drive around and see the incredible views as we drove up the mountain. Everything went very smoothly and our guide was very personable and friendly. I can’t recommend this tour enough! This was our favorite part of our trip to Costa Rica!

A wonderful experience - Gabriel went above and beyond! He took us to the most amazing places - a mango farm, a waterfall, and stopped along the way to show us interesting plants and trees. It was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you!

AXR, The Highlight of our Jaco CR Trip - David did an amazing job taking us up and through the mountains to waterfalls and creeks. We had lunch at a fabulous restaurant along our mountain path. The food was delicious. David was very patient and professional. No trip to Javo is complete without an AXR ATV Tour!

Abner is the best! - Abner was a great guide! We had him all to ourselves and it was great to be able to learn about the area. Jaco Falls was amazing and the pineapple smoothie was delicious. Thank you Abner for a great trip. He even shared a local fruit drink recipe with us that I’m looking forward to trying..

Another great ride - Our 2nd time with AXR. Got two side by sides and took off for a couple hours. Danny was our guide is just the best. He took us on a new trail that rocked. Our only regret is we should have gone longer.

Loads of fun... - Absolutely an awesome adventure in the 2 hour buggy ride. Our tour guide was the absolute best. Prepare to get wet and dirty lol. The stop at the bar/restaurant is a great touch. One thing to keep in mind that a hefty deposit is required.

SCAM!! UNPROFFESSIONAL - AXR (AN EXTREME RIDER) Costa Rica Off Road LTDA
I recently had a very disappointing and concerning experience with AXR (AN EXTREME RIDER), also known as Costa Rica Off Road LTDA. On September 26, 2024, my friends and I rented 7 Talons and one ATV, putting down a deposit of $7,000.
From the start, there were major red flags. I was pressured to name all the drivers and sign on their behalf, which felt rushed and unprofessional. We received no safety advice, training, or information about the challenging paths we would be navigating.
Unfortunately, one of my friends, who was a first-time driver, rolled one of the vehicles. While damages occurred, the management claimed the cost was exactly $7,000—an amount that felt extremely suspicious. They then offered a cash settlement of $5,000, which I refused because I believed the actual damages were around $3,000. I felt immense pressure and decided to leave it on my card, hoping to dispute the charges later.
I would NEVER recommend this company or any of its affiliates. They provide no insurance, lack professionalism, and prioritize profit over customer safety. This operation feels like a complete scam. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for an adventure in Costa Rica!
