IMPORTANT GREEN SEASON UPDATE
Due to the green season, our sunset tours will operate during daytime hours (11:00 AM to 3:30 PM) from May 15 to December 15 to avoid the afternoon rain.
Join us for a truly unique and exclusive Sunset Tour to Playa Fantasia. Our sunset tour departs at 1:30 PM from Playa Herradura, cruising for 40 minutes up the Gulf of Nicoya to a secluded beach.
Playa Fantasia is a beach accessible only by water, featuring expansive jungle, reef formations, white sand, and turquoise waters. It remains untouched and is teeming with marine and wildlife, including monkeys, scarlet macaws, turtles, and our rescued animals.
At Playa Fantasia, enjoy access to boogie boards, paddleboards, surfboards, hammocks, and beach loungers.
- Our cruise is not a booze cruise, if you are looking for a booze cruise, you will be disappointed
- Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
- Not recommended for participants with back problems or participants with limited mobility
- There is plenty of shaded areas on board, please prepare to spend majority of your tour in direct or indirect sunlight. For safety reasons spray sunscreens are not permitted.
- We board the large catamaran from small tenders from the beach. Long dresses, and pants are not recommended.
- You will be notified by a representative of your pickup time, our transportation will only wait 5 minutes at each stop before moving to the next stop. If you miss your transportation time, your tour will be cancelled without refund.
- ID is needed to use paddle boards, boogie boards, surf boards and snorkel gear.
- Banana Boat rides are available for purchase. Please contact us to reserve and purchase tickets.
- VERY IMPORTANT NOTE GREEN SEASON MAY - NOVEMBER *WE DO NOT RUN A SUNSET TOUR. Our sunset tour during these months operates from 11am - 3:30 pm to avoid rain, and rough waters in the evening during these months. During these months there is rarely a SUNSET and safety is our priority - always! Please note when booking these months we will contact you to arrange pickup, which is will be between 9:45 - 10:30 am during GREEN SEASON.
- The transportation depart from our office in 40 minutes before the to Herradura Beach were the Catamaran departs

The highlight of our entire trip to Costa Rica - one of them, anyway... - I signed up to Tripadvisor just to review this experience, although I probably will use it again. This Sealounge Catamaran in Costa Rica was the highlight of our trip! It was remarkable. So relaxing, yet the entire crew is focused on your every desire! You can make it as challenging as you want, from jumping off the top of the catamaran cover once you reach the island, and swim ashore, to the banana boat ride - it's just spectacular! DON'T MISS IT! We were going to do the rafting in the rain forest, but this was closer to Jaco, where we were staying. They pick you up, feed you, open bar (NOT a booze cruise) and you can sit in hammocks, lounge chairs or logs! Environmentally focused! Johan has a PHD in environmental science and is so informative! The whole crew was the BEST! Totally recommend! A++

Wonderful day on the catamaran - Wonderful crew, wonderful meal, wonderful day. The whole day was amazing, from getting on the boat to landing at the beach and enjoying our lunch. Returning to the port at sunset was magical, dolphins or swimming next to the boat.

Small group catamaran and exclusive beach afternoon - Wonderful afternoon in a small group exclusive beach experience. We had to reschedule twice due to high winds and minimum numbers so be sure to book early in your stay so you don’t miss out. Ride out was a bit choppy but we were happy the captain felt it was safe to travel to the private beach. The beach is a bit rocky at the shoreline so water shoes are a good idea. The beach itself is soft sand with loungers and hammocks and plenty of shade. The staff is truly incredible, setting up a bar and grilling up an incredible lunch. Went on a banana boat ride after a dip and then unfortunately it was time to go. The ride back was calmer and we circled the bay waiting for the amazing sunset. Highly recommend!

A beautiful experience! - I brought my retreat group of 9 and we had an incredible time! The private beach is beautiful, the food was delicious, the staff very helpful and accommodating, and the views are stunning. We even saw dolphins!! Highly recommend this experience for nearly anyone.

Beautiful and relaxing cruise - Loved this sunset catamaran cruise! Our crew was great - they took great care of us! The beach was beautiful and secluded, and the lunch and drinks were delicious. We will definitely go on this tour again the next time we are in Jaco!

Cateraman and Banana Split - The sunset excursion was cancelled due to low participation but I was offered the daytime trip and loved it! We had a wonderful day on the cameraman and beach. The lunch was delicious, the staff was very nice, the weather was great, and the banana boat was a blast! I’m glad we were switched to the day trip. It was a great experience.

The Beach was Spectacular! - Great tour! The boat staff was incredible. The beach experience was like something out of a movie. We had a tiki bar, beach chairs, hammocks and wooden tables for our freshly grilled kababs - YUM! Johannes was great at finding all the creatures at the beach. We saw hermit crabs, bats and a sloth! The staff played a fun game of soccer with our younger males.
Only complaint was we were not warned that after checkin at the main office we had to then drive to the beach, FIND PARKING and get to the boat. It was a Sunday and the beach was mobbed. We had two cars to park and it took a bit, the boat was about to leave us. For all the great communication before the tour this detail was left out.

Catamaran to playa fantasia - The crew was fabulous , boat great , lunch was delicious . I was expecting the beach to be better. It was nice and private , but the beach was rocky , you needed sandals or bring water shoes to go in or walk in the beach . Other than that , it was a nice day with a boat ride and great lunch and sunset. The crew works hard at accommodating everyone .
