Fantastic Private Lesson at Jaco. The best experience! Pura Vida - Had two fantastic private lessons with Jay. He understood exactly what I was looking to get out of the lessons. I really wanted to work on surfing down the line and catching green waves. It was great to learn from his expertise around wave selection, board positioning, wave direction and turning. I would highly recommend him for any lesson type, beginner up to advanced. He was polite, calm, safety conscious and had good kit. I caught the best waves of my life and really feel like I learned some important lessons.

Professional, fun, hospitable surf lessons - This surf instruction is convenient and progressional. I have been to many surf destinations and tried my hardest at them all, but Jacó+Jay was the right combination for my level of surfing ability. I live in Costa Rica and go back to Jay regularly for instruction. He’s a great coach! Family-operated, Tico-owned.

Perfect Experience as a Beginner - I think Jay is a magician because I managed to get up on my first try. Wasn't expecting that! He made it super easy and we had a blast. As a complete beginner, I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Great experience for all skill levels - Jay is a very respectful and motivating young man. His surfing skills are master level as are his instruction skills related to surfing. Even if you’re intermediate to advanced skill level, he can pinpoint the things you need to focus on to improve your surfing skills. I give my highest recommendation.

Great intro to surfing - We had a great intro to surfing with Jay. Explained the fundamentals on land and then off in the surf. Jay was great on getting up us riding the waves early on. Definitely recommend.

Sababa surfing in Jaco - Jay and Ricardo were FANTASTIC with my 16, 14, and 11 year old teens. My kids felt very comfortable with them and thought they were so nice. Although not beginners, the three kids are on different levels and Jay taught them new skills, while gearing the surfing to them each. There were two instructors for the 3 kids. The waves were intense that day and Jay and his team were very mindful of how far out they went and keeping safety at the forefront. They had a blast during their two hours!! 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️🤟

10 outta 10, would surf again! - These guys were amazing!!! I've taken lessons in Indonesia and Portugal before and was never able to stand for more than 5 seconds, but this time I stood up multiple times! J was super easy to book with, we got a 2 hour lesson, 3-1 (or 2-1) students to instructors, and we were able to come back later in the day to use a board to try on our own. Also huge shout out to Marlin, who hopped back in the water with my husband in the afternoon to help him stand up on his own, above and beyond!

Bests ever service!!!! - Best service ever! Jay is an incredibly passionate instructor who truly loves teaching, as well as surfing and skating. His location is fantastic, conveniently situated near restaurants, and he offers a parking lot at a hotel across the street. Overall, it was an excellent experience!"

From 0 to ride a wave - From 0 to being able to get around a Wave, that's what I accomplished in the 1-hour class. It was beautiful to get from knowing absolutely nothing to being able to get in and ride a Wave, an experience that I will not forget easily. Thank you very much
