Chand Baori (Stepwell) - The journey from Jaipur takes about 2 hours. Upon arrival, lunch will be provided before exploring the Abhaneri Stepwell. Chand Baori is the oldest surviving stepwell in Rajasthan, and possibly India, constructed by King Chanda or Chandra of the Nikhumbha dynasty. Dating back to the 8th-9th century CE, it is 1200-1300 years old, predating the Taj Mahal, Khajuraho Temples, and Chola Temples, yet younger than the Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Standing beside this 13-story deep stepwell, with its symmetrical triangular steps leading to the water below, is truly mesmerizing. In the arid region of Rajasthan, it serves as an ingenious water management solution and a natural cooler during summer. The beauty of its construction is awe-inspiring.
After visiting Abhaneri, the tour continues to Bhangarh. - Bhangarh Fort - Bhangarh is a village and renowned haunted site located in Rajgarh Alwar, Rajasthan, India. Known for its historical ruins, it is considered one of India’s many haunted places. Situated in the Rajgarh municipality of the Alwar district, Bhangarh lies on the edge of the Sariska Tiger Reserve. The town was founded in 1573 (VS 1631) during the reign of Kachwaha Rajput ruler of Jaipur, Bhagwant Das, as the residence for his second son, Madho Singh, the younger brother of Emperor Akbar’s general, Man Singh I. Trespassing near Bhangarh is legally prohibited between sunset and sunrise due to its haunted reputation. After completing the sightseeing, guests will be driven back to Jaipur, a 90-minute journey.
