Once in a lifetime experience that beats anything I’ve done before - Words don’t do justice to the incredible experience we enjoyed. It was once in a lifetime. We had to reschedule due to unexpected illness and yet the business went out of their way to accommodate us on a different day - and support us. They collected us in an AC car, with other friendly guests and snacks. They were engaging and warm throughout - especially as we had an infant. When we arrived, we met the camel herdsman who was an absolute gem. He was accompanied by his grandson who he was training in the soon-to-be-forgotten ways of camels. He was knowledgeable beyond compare and caring, careful and considerate. He answered so many questions about the area - his family have lived there for 650 years he said. The journey was magical. The peace of the desert, broken only by the tinkling bells of the camels. You see so much wildlife - deer, lizards. When we arrived, there was an unexpected sand storm so we sheltered in a small hut till it passed. We missed the sunset but the awesome experience of the sandstorm was also spectacular. This must be one of the most amazing experiences to enjoy this side of heaven - and real desert camel safari provided an exceptional service. I’d travel all the way to jaisalmer only for this experience again.

Two unforgettable nights in the desert - Our family of three went for two nights into the desert. The first night we went on camelback to sand dunes where we slept under the stars. The second night we spent in a clamping tent. We had a great experience and will take lots of memories home. Highly recommended!

Incredible experience, can’t recommend the real man desert safari enough! - We can’t recommend this trip highly enough! Jalam, Jeetu and Abhay were the perfect hosts. Our tour started at 2pm, we left the office at 2:30 and drove by jeep towards the abandoned city of Kuldhara. It’s a gorgeous sight that goes on for miles, make sure to get some pictures of your loved ones from the 2nd floor windows of the preserved buildings and to visit the temple on site which houses bats on its ceiling (see pics). We then drove to the desert camp, the total journey including the stop was close to 2 hours. We then met the rest of the team and the camels that would carry us to our bed for the night. The camel ride was 1.5 hours and 9km. It’s a slow and steady ride. We took provisions like water etc in our small packs and left our rucksacks in the truck. In hindsight I’d suggest leaving anything other than phones, camera equipment and hats as theirs no break on the ride to have a sip of water let alone reapply your sun cream. All a blessing, but prepare yourselves on the drive before your camel ride. We then hit our stay, a beautiful secluded sand dune, not another soul in sight (other than our small tour group). We had snacks, water and lit a fire to prepare for dinner. Everyone settled in and made their beds comfortable. We brought our own sleeping silk liner but we really didn’t need it. The sheets were clean and fresh and the bed covers heavy and warm. We were told to bring gloves, socks and a jumper for when the temperature dropped. We really didn’t need anything until morning when the wind picked up slightly at which point I put on my thin jumper and socks to stop the chill. I’d say a jumper however thin is a must. I really wanted to immerse myself in the experience and so jeetu and abhay let me help cutting and preparing the vegetables and help make the chapatis for dinner which was just after sunset. We had dinner and sang songs as the light went down. The guys we were with brought some coke and whiskey to drink, we chose not too bit buy it before hand if you wish to enjoy for the evening. The night went dark and we settled into bed, the sky was incredible. We watched the stars and drifted to sleep… however… the moon dilutes the stars a little and we wanted to stay awake to see the moon disappear to see a completely black sky. We woke a few times throughout the night naturally, at 3am the moon was on the horizon and by 4am it had gone, leaving the most incredible sight we’ve ever seen. I’d recommend no alcohol if you want to see the best of it as our tour group missed the highlight! We woke to the sunset and a lovely breakfast and then embarked on our journey home, a 20 min camel ride and a 1.5 hour drive back to Jaisalmer. If you come and have a good time tip your guides!! They made our whole stay incredible and we had so much time to sit and chat with them and learn about their life here, do the same, they’re the most friendly bunch you could meet. We really hope to be back and do the same tour with these guys again, book it you won’t be disappointed! (A few essentials to pack- jumper, toilet roll/tissues/ hand wipes, hand sanitiser, torch, hat/ head scarf, sun cream. We had no issues with insects whatsoever. There’s obvs no power so a power ban is wise.
