- Jaisalmer Fort - Constructed by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 AD, Jaisalmer Fort is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Explore the second oldest fort, also known as Sonar Quila or Sone ka Quila, with a guide who will share detailed insights, significance, and stories about the royal families. The fort boasts 99 bastions, with 92 built between 1633 and 1647, showcasing Islamic and Rajput architecture.
- Kothari’s Patwaon-Ki-Haveli - Patwa Haveli, or Kothari’s Patwa Haveli, is a significant haveli in Jaisalmer. It was the first haveli and is actually a cluster of five smaller havelis. Owned by a trader named Guman Chand Patwa, these five houses were built in the first 60 years of the 19th century, earning it the name “mansion of brocade merchants.” Now a museum, it features intricate carvings, furniture, and artwork. The Archaeological Survey of India and the State art and craft department are located within the haveli.
- Gadisar Lake - After exploring the fort and havelis, head to Gadisar Lake. Initially constructed by Raja Rawal Jaisal around 1400 AD and later renovated by Maharawal Gadsi Singh, it is surrounded by numerous temples and shrines. The lake also hosts a desert cultural center and a museum with artifacts. Another attraction is Tilon ki Pol, a two-story yellow sandstone gateway with lattices and balconies. Boating is available here for an additional fee.
- Kuldhara Abandoned Village - Visit the 200-year-old abandoned village of Kuldhara. Legend has it that the villagers left overnight due to the Diwan of Jaisalmer, cursing the village so that no one could settle there again, with attempts resulting in paranormal experiences. Visitors can explore the villagers’ houses and enjoy a panoramic view of the village from the terraces. It’s also an ideal spot for photography.
- Sam Sand Dunes - A drive from Kuldhara Village takes 1-2 hours. The highlight of the tour is exploring the Thar Desert at Sam Sand Dunes, one of India’s most authentic desert dune sites.
