Authentic Experience - It’s the real deal. Better than any dinner ‘show.’ This is a real training session that gets quite intense at times. The wrestlers are division one and division two status. You really get an insight into their world, and you also see aspects of full on sumo wrestling.

Outstanding experience - must do! - Excellent. The best experience and I would recommend to anyone. As we went during a quiet period, we were there in our own which meant a really in depth session with the sumo and a lot of wrestling!! Our host was outstanding also with great explanations and made us feel very welcome.

Genial, unique and exceptional experience. Absolute privilege - Congratulations to all the sumotoris of the team, having had the privilege of attending this training was one of the highlights of my stay in Japan! Special dedication to Atamifuji who made a brilliant run in the tournament that I obviously followed every day after attending this training. Also congratulations to the brilliant trainer: she gave accurate and enriching information while showing great enthusiasm and energy, she really contributed to make this moment unforgettable. Thank you very much.

Awe-Inspiring! Don’t miss this once in a lifetime experience! - Toshiya was an incredible guide! He translated every aspect of the Sumo practice and gave us wonderful background information as we walked to the sumo stable so we were prepared to witness some of the greatest athleticism and agility I have ever seen! Honestly this was my top experience visiting Japan. Watching a sport that is over 2,000 years old and seeing the dedication and determination of these athletes who are upholding tradition and history was awe-inspiring. I loved Toshiya’s energy and enthusiasm as if he was experiencing it for the first time like we all were. 10/10!!!!!

Fascinating and respectful glimpse into sumo life - We had an excellent experience at the sumo practice session tour. Our guide, Miya, was knowledgeable, warm, and very professional, which made the entire experience feel smooth and well-organized from start to finish. Before the practice began, she clearly explained all of the rules and etiquette, so we knew exactly how to behave respectfully in the stable. Her explanations of sumo traditions, daily practice routines, and the wrestlers themselves added a lot of depth and context to what we were watching — it wasn’t just observing, it was truly understanding what was happening. The practice itself was intense and fascinating to witness up close, and at the end we were given the chance to take photos with the wrestlers, which was a wonderful and memorable touch. This tour strikes a great balance between education, cultural respect, and access. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Japanese culture or looking for an authentic experience.

Sumo training - This is a great, authentic Tokyo/Japanese experience. Thoroughly recommend. Being able to watch these guys during the main tournament week was so good and very special. Our host Kiki was knowledgeable and very helpful answering all our questions.

Authentic morning in a real sumo training stable. - This is an excellent. experience for people new to sumo and for die-hard fans. It’s a rare chance to see an authentic sumo training stable with competition athletes up close and personal. Toshiya, our guide, provided an interesting and clear overview of the sport along with instructions for our compartment in the training area. It’s serious business, especially as we visited just 2 days before the Tokyo Grand Sumo tournament. The chance to ask questions of the stable master was a real bonus. Highly recommended.

THE REAL DEAL - GREAT! - Absolutely Amazing Experience! Toshiya made the experience even better. His explanations, briefings and knowledge of the sport were invaluable (as was his little whiteboard throughout the session). The opportunity to visit a genuine, working Sumo Stable watch these big guys up close going through their training - and "sparring / practice fighting" - was fascinating. They are so strong but so flexible. Their raw, explosive power contrasted with their gentleness as people. There are many other experiences in Tokyo : going to a "Sumo experience dinner" in Asakusa or Sumo "fighting" with padded suits. These may well be fun - but they are no where near the experience of being up close with real Sumo or being able to ask the Stable Master questions afterwards. This is the tour to take for seeing the "real deal" and learning so much.
