• Maligne Canyon - Enjoy a 30-minute pause at Maligne Canyon to explore the two bridges, offering spectacular views of the cascading waterfall and the ongoing erosion of the ancient limestone. (Please note: waterfalls are currently closed due to the aftermath of a fire, alternative stops will be made along the route – see additional info for details)
• Medicine Lake - As the journey continues into the Valley, ascend into the sub-alpine forests and witness the expanding limestone ranges emerging from Medicine Lake. This enigmatic disappearing lake changes with the seasons as the flow rates of meltwaters fill and drain this basin. A stop is made to capture photographs of this natural wonder, and your guide will share its history with you.
• Maligne Lake - Upon reaching Maligne Lake, embark on a picturesque boat cruise where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the lake’s glacial-blue waters and the towering mountains surrounding it. You’ll be sheltered from the elements in the comfortable enclosed boat while learning about the area’s human and geological history. The 90-minute cruise includes a stop at Spirit Island, where you’ll have the chance to walk to the renowned photo viewpoint and capture some of the most stunning scenery in the Canadian Rockies. After the cruise, you can savor your own packed lunch or purchase a delightful grab-and-go meal from the Maligne Lakehouse restaurant (additional expense) before we head back to Jasper.

• Important Note regarding Maligne Canyon Waterfalls: Due to damage caused by last summer’s wildfire, access to Maligne Canyon is currently closed by Parks Canada for infrastructure repairs to ensure visitor safety. If these repairs are not completed prior to your selected tour date, the short walk to view waterfalls in Maligne Canyon will not be possible. In this case, the tour will proceed with a slightly altered itinerary, offering alternative stops to showcase the area’s unique beauty. This includes a visit to Maligne Lookout, where you can view the dramatically changed landscape from a high vantage point, and additional time at Medicine Lake, featuring a short walk along the shore for stunning perspectives of the lake surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Please rest assured that the tour length and price remain unchanged, and the overall experience will still provide incredible opportunities to explore and learn about the Maligne Valley’s natural wonders.
• To request complimentary pick-up from your accommodation, please specify which hotel you are staying at. Pickup times vary therefore your exact pick-up time will be confirmed upon booking.
• If you are staying outside of Jasper, please specify Jasper Downtown Location - at Two Brothers Totem Pole across from Parks Canada Information Center on Connaught Drive. Your meeting time will be 15 minutes prior to your trip’s departure time. All-day parking is located in the parking lot.
