Jeju Stone Park - (Departing from Jeju Cruise Terminal)
Jeju Stone Culture Park is a historical and cultural space that showcases the stone culture, Seolmundae Halmang myth, and folk traditions that form the foundation of Jeju’s creation and human culture. The legend of Seolmundae Halmang, the goddess who created Jeju Island, and the five generals is depicted through various stone cultural relics and materials on the expansive 300,000 pyeong Gotjawal land. This park was designed as a place where both Jeju residents and tourists can directly experience and observe the lifestyle of Jeju’s people through its exhibition space. By embracing Jeju’s identity, locality, and artistry, the formation process of Tamna, along with its mythology, history, and folk culture, is unveiled. The aim is to create the most beautiful educational space, organized by era, to pass on to future generations. This is a vision that the planner of Stone Culture Park has consistently upheld. -
Sangumburi Crater - (Departing from Jeju Cruise Terminal)
Sangumburi Crater stands out from the 360 or more parasitic cones of Jeju as it was not formed by the accumulation of erupted materials. Instead, it is a maar-type parasitic cone, created as a crater with a hole when numerous materials were ejected. The inner area spans 300,000㎡, with an interior bottom circumference of 756m and an exterior circumference of 2,070m. The nearly vertical crater is approximately 130m tall, making it slightly larger and deeper than Hallasan Mountain. In autumn, the ridges of Sangumburi Crater turn golden with waves of silvergrass, while the planted cedar dominates most of the eastern and western slopes, with Sawtooth oak in the surrounding area. Additionally, Korean Fir has been planted to form a forest path. Apart from these lush forests, colonies of Eulalia grass cover large sections of the crater. -
Seongeup Folk Village - (Departing from Jeju Cruise Terminal) and (Departing from Seogwipo City Gangjeong Cruise Terminal)
The entire village, which preserves the living site of the people of old Jeju, has been designated as an Important Folklore Cultural Heritage. Although it can be considered a folk village, it differs from typical folk villages as people still reside there today. The village residents serve as volunteer guides, providing visitors with a wealth of information. The Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry in the center of the village are worth taking the time to see. -
Seongsan Ilchulbong - (Departing from Jeju Cruise Terminal) and (Departing from Seogwipo City Gangjeong Cruise Terminal)
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a landmark attraction of Jeju, was formed about 5,000 years ago from a magma eruption on the ocean floor. It is particularly renowned as a sunrise viewing spot, considered one of the top ten exquisite sceneries of Jeju Island. Besides watching the sunrise, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone is also an excellent trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages by crossing the peak. Another popular trail, the Jijil Trail, offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark as well as Jeju’s local culture. Walking along one of these paths is recommended to truly experience the area; reaching the summit provides views of both the vast volcanic crater in the center and the blue ocean surrounding the area. To complete your trip, visit Seongsanpo Port to watch haenyeo (female divers) at work. -
Hamdeok Beach - (Departing from Jeju Cruise Terminal)
Walking along Jeju Olle Course 19 leads to Hamdeok Beach, which boasts an emerald jewel. Located in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, it is also known as ‘Hamdeok Seoubong Beach’ due to Oreum (Seoubong Peak) standing right next to the beach. It is only 20km from Jeju Airport, yet upon arrival, it feels like being in another country. The tall palm trees that greet visitors at the entrance, the emerald sea contrasting with the white sand, and the clear water and white waves that make even the sand and seaweed transparent are remarkable. Among the numerous beaches on Jeju Island, if one were to choose three with the most beautiful sea color, it would definitely include Hyeopjae Beach, Gimnyeong Beach, and Hamdeok Beach. The water is clear and shallow, making it an ideal summer resort for families. The west side of the beach is connected by an overpass, allowing for a unique experience of walking on the sea. -
Oedolgae - (Departing from Seogwipo City Gangjeong Cruise Terminal)
Oedolgae, the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7, is a stone pillar that rises 20m high from the sea. Standing alone in the sea, it was named ‘Oedolgae’. It is also referred to as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’, with a story that General Choi Yeong decorated this rock like a general when fighting against the Yuan Dynasty, causing the enemy to self-destruct. For the origin of the name ‘Grandma Rock’, read the legend below. Not only the visible rocks, but also the life of Jeju people waiting for the people of the sea can be observed. These stone pillars are believed to have been created during a volcanic eruption. A chimney-shaped stone pillar, where the surrounding rocks are eroded by waves and only such strong rocks remain, is scientifically termed a sea stack. Pine trees naturally grow on the top of Oedolgae. -
Jeongbang Waterfall - (Departing from Seogwipo City Gangjeong Cruise Terminal)
Jeongbang Falls is one of Jejudo Island’s top 3 waterfalls, along with Cheonjiyeon Falls and Cheonjeyeon Falls. It is the only waterfall in Korea where water falls directly into the sea. The fall is 23m high, and the two streams of water cascading down the black cliff create a thrilling sound and a wonderful view. Moreover, the steep cliffs and ancient pine trees around the fall create a picturesque scene, and this view was chosen as one of the Ten Scenic Sights of Yeongju, known as “Jeongbanghapok.” According to legends, a man named Seobul came to the island in search of an elixir plant on the orders of China’s Qin Shu Huangdi long ago. Unable to find the elixir plant, he headed west to return to China and became captivated by the sight of Jeongbang Falls, leading him to inscribe “Seobulgwacha” on the cliff. -
Seopjikoji - (Departing from Seogwipo City Gangjeong Cruise Terminal)
Seopjikoji, located on the east coast of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, is a stunning coastline filled with canola flowers in the spring, with Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rising in the background and the beautiful Sinyang Beach nearby. Here, visitors can witness the traditional beauties of Jeju, such as vast lands filled with canola flowers on the hill, Jeju ponies grazing peacefully, beautiful rocky cliffs, and the legendary Seonbawi Rock standing in the ocean. What sets Seopjikoji apart from other coasts on Jejudo Island is its composition of red volcanic ash called “scoria,” and its unique rock formations that only reveal themselves when the tide is low. It has been a filming site for movies and TV dramas like “The Legend of Gingko,” “The Uprising,” “Cheonilya,” and “All In.” The picturesque blue house by the sea where Choi Jin-sil lived in the movie is a notable feature.
